Leon Redbone is cool too. Shoot, I first saw him on SNL. I saw him performing at an eatery in Warren Ohio. I was standing right next to him before he went on stage. He was wearing a white suit and a white hat. His band is cool too. My Dad would have loved him.

I love Lyle Lovette (well...not in the biblical sense, you understand!). He has great lyrics, interesting music, a large band, & a great sense of humor.

Then there were The Cowsills, Bobby Sherman, The Archies, 1910 Fruitgum Co, David Cassidy...yeah, when I was a youngster, that's what I listened to, & I had to like it or listen to my dad's stuff (which I've come to learn was WAY better!).
