Philby,

I understand that, but Im in pretty good shape for a guy of my age, and no other guitar Ive owned sounds or feels like a Les Paul. I have a Strat and force myself to play it, just because I have it. But Im Les Paul thru and thru. My band is a ballsy three piece with lead singer and the only guitar I will carry into battle is a Paul.

I really dont notice the weight, in fact I sat in a few weeks ago with a friends band and he has one of those Ibanez guitars RG series everyone plays. I couldnt stand it. Number one it was too light, I need a guitar to anchor me to the floor. It sounded really thin to me. I can appreciate the neck, it was flat and fast, but the guitar just didnt inspire me to play. Les Pauls always give me a woody!

Next time you play a heavy guitar or bass drink a RedBull or better yet a Yagar Bomb, I promise you wont feel the weight, plus youll have all the gals hanging on you like I do. Thats it your scared of the women, Right?

Have a good day!

You know Im just kidding aroud dont you?

My Goddess is really not all that heavy. As a matter of fact if anything she is a little neck heavy on the strap. Would be my only complaint IF I were'nt in love..
This is an embarrasing thread. Took me five tries to post a damned picture.

Sweet guitars. I play an Epi LP Standard Plus Top, the transparent blue. Sure, Les Pauls are heavy, but they just feel sooo right.

Id have a white one but blood stains show up too good on them. I guess I'll stick to black.

Slipped thats a nice looking axe. Crip has a Gibby that looks similiar. That gold hardware stands out on white.

I also have a black Les Paul Classic , a 2007, that I got of Ebay as well for $1,200.00, a fair buy considering it was basically new. At first I didn't bond that well with it because of the high output ceramic pickups, and also the weight and the poorly done frets. So I installed a Gibson Classic '57 Plus in the bridge and a SD '59 in the neck and it now has a more traditional Les Paul tone. I had the frets leveled, crowned and polished by a very good luthier and now the neck and fretboard are much better playing. I like the neck shape and tone of this guitar a lot. The weight I'll have to get used to, and got a wide strap to help distribute the weight somewhat. I'm using it much more these days as it feels more solid to play than my 335.
