We just got ourselves a new guitarist/vocalist through BandMix. So much for this site sucking. 
I've made many contacts through this site. Several have turned into regular gigs. If this site didn't work for me I'd just move on quietly. I don't get folks who's first instinct is to spew some negative crap on the boards before they leave. First because then they have to come back to check out all the indignant replies and second because hey, I thought it sucked and you were leaving? I've run into this type of musician in real life whose first response is allways negative and they are no fun to make music with. If someone doesn't bring some positive energy to the situation I'm out and any of the "This site sux" posters are really just doing us a favor by letting us know not to waste time on them.
Good for you for posting something complementary. It may encourage others to sign up and overall it strengthens the community here. Good luck with your band.
