The Moody Blues is the only band I can think of that fits this category.

Thier lyrical content gets muddied up in their "cosmic view," at times, imho.

Are there other bands that have this belief in common? If so, do they also push these religio-philosophic views in their lyrics?

I'm just curious, since there's been a bit of exposure on the Scientology church & its members lately.

I don't know really...

All I can think of is Rush, how they did the themed albums like 2112 and Hemispheres, one based on science fiction and the other on equally fictional mythology. I really like it for what it is.

Are you sure the moody blues based it on scientology, or was that more of a reference to their stylings? I have to admit, I don't pay a lot of attention to lyrical content as I do the music, but they always came off as the 'drug-induced philosophy' kind of band.

Seems to me the whole scientology thing is based on a concept of man "being" god. How the f**k anyone can look at the human race and come up with that conclusion escapes all sense and reason.
Other than that random thought of violence I cannot speak for any bands religious / social stand except our own.

Krammer: I always have liked Rush. Especially 2112. Train to Bangcock is a masterpiece in my delusional mind. Trees was also a master piece.
Speaks more to the reality of being the human race than any religeous espousal.

Hi all,
I suppose if you think that most if not all religions are fundamentally man made, then if Scientology thinks man is God... well it's really not too far divorced from the rest.
Just a passing thought from across the pond!

Religion is man made. An undeniable fact. And of all things made by man therefore imperfect. In that aspect all are the same, as is mankind.

Progressins of decay set in motion We are mere passengers of time. Current flows through eternitys vast ocean, Never more to return
Raise you fist against the tyrnats, whom take our lives out of turn. till the tide slowly passes, Nerver more shall return.

Hi all,
Those were some nice lines to pick up just as I start to think of hitting the hay here at 22.37... I will start listening to songs on your profile again to see if those words turn up in a song soon.
The line had something of Peter Hammill and Vandergraaph Generator... a seventies Brit band that was big in Europe, but I don't think ever crossed the pond!
