Okay, here's a challenge - find some vids or recordings by the one-hit queens & kings that you've heard over the years, that you liked at one point or another - the more embarassing the better!

Well, I hope this brings back some memories, anyway. Funny how BAD radio really was at one time, eh? There was a time when every time you turned on yer lil Japanese transistor pocket-sized radio, which only received AM stations, you'd hear this stuff as long as your batteries held out.

Omg, sans! I wore out this 45! I used to play this, back when I was 1st learning.

Btw - that band was also called "Poco." They made a lot of really good recordings during their career.

I seen The 1910 Fruitgum company live sometime back in the late 60's.

How the hell do you find all these obscure videos? Somebody's got too much time on their hands. Just like any era there was a lot of really awful tunes back in the late 60's and early 70's along with some incredibly good music. One song I remember was "Hey There Lonely Girl". I forget who did it but it had THE most annoying falsetto lead vocalist. A few years ago I heard it on an oldies station and the next day I snuck up behind my employee and started singing it right behind him full blast (and I can sing VERY loud). I never saw anybody jump up so high in my life. It was funnier than sh*t singin "Hey There Lonely GIrl" to a guy!!

Bob - I find them by accident when I'm looking for legitimate throwback stuff for our band to do. i'm always recalling the off-the-wall stuff like Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart, & when I go to see if the song's worthwhile, I stumble upon all sortsa odd things in the "similar vids" collumns.

"Lonely Girl" WAS annoying as hell! LMAO

Granted, Boyce and Hart do reek of that vile genre of muzak known as late 60's teeney bopper music, However....
They were actually a great deal more then a "flash in the pan pop duo".
They were powerful songwriters,who produced a variety of hits, none the least, some of the Monkee's best, such as "Last Train To Clarksville"

(just to set the record strait, and give credit wher it's due)

HJ - I actually WAS thinking about doing some Boyce/Hart stuff, & no, I DON'T put them in the same category as the rest of this thread. They were really good for their time. Still haven't found that perfect tune from them for FRB, yet, though.
