If you think Texas is flat. You aint seen much of Texas.
The hills of East Texas where I live aint no mountains, but they are heavely forested still in many areas. Cut and crossed with ravines from the rain storms we get.
Parts of Central Texas is as rugged as any mountains. If not as tall. The scrub brush lands of the south west have more types of wild game than most any part of the world. The cactus and rock incrusted ridges are very difficult to hike. If it rains out there you best not be near an arroyo.
Flash floods have killed may a flatlander who wondered how that canyon got there.
