I am trying to promote some new songs I have composed and was wondering what else I can do on the net after myspace, youtube, tunecore, myxer, garageband, craigslist, indiestore.

Also, if you have a chance to hear the songs, please leave any feedback, I'm new to it and would greatly benefit from any comments.

I did stop by and take a quick listen (I'll return later when I have more time). I think you have a great voice (from what I've heard so far), and I like your tunes. The one complaint I have (and I'm going to start a fire with this one) is too much vocal reverb. I feel like we're in an auditorium, and you are singing at one end and I'm listening from the other end.
I often get criticized (constructively) for keeping vocals too dry. I just want to hear some of the natural flavor of your voice.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, that's fair and I agree. Will consider when recording future tunes.

Yeah, I went to the TUBE first and expected to find someone older than ME as I listened.Yeah man, played this genre for yrs and kinda write in this vein as well .You gotta great voice for this genre. NOW , for what youve REALLY been waiting for. I like F but not for every tune. Everything I heard was in C.which are all your tunes on myspace and the 5 videos I scoped.The guitar was outta tune alot on many of the songs, which creates harmonic dist and WAV lengths that fight one another causing competition with the pitch of your vocal making it sound outta tune in places.Being a 70's guy,Im a verb /chorus freak too so I cant say anything. .But yeah , like the tunes and thier content and vocal style,just be alittle more tuning concious, and lose some of the verb.Try some Comp/Limit with a tiny amount of delay, 150ms maybe ,and that will give ya that big sound without all that verb decay.

Yes, yes, same tone and chords, I know . I composed, played, sang and produced the whole thing myself, but to be honest, I just know how to sing. Don't play well the guitar (just know a few chords, and do need to learn how to tune it right ), never touched a real drum set and just added poor MIDI chords with an old keyboard that I also don't play well.

I'll get better with time, I hope .... and eventually will re-record the songs with a real band (not my computer) !!!

Yeah, Im the oppsosite, I play all the instruments you'll hear on my tunes, BUT, I sound like a calf with a double hernia when I try to sing. I sing to pay bills not cuase I enjoy it. I do all my music on a OLD keyboard (Ensoniq SQ1 16 trk from 89). The trick is in the editing of the WAV forms of those old keyboards.The ROMS suck , so thank GOD for digital editing and and 3.5 in floppies which I still use.Actually a whole band will be alot tougher to record than what your doing unless you go to a studio with million $$$ equipment. Heck , Im usin a a 15 yr old sound card, 8CH brain for an interface (noisy) and the old trusty SQ1 and live micing an a beat to death amp for gtr.So, you can still do alot with outdated equipment.

Hey Capn, I didnt see your post before I posted.Remember Im posting from another era (time dimension) so it takes longer to reach 2009. Does he have one leg cause I thought he was older?..That was just based on the genre I was hearing, and you KNOW that. Just not used to hearin this vein from anyone under 50.

Ok, let's compartmentalize. I got that chords are the same, but that can be changed. No discussion that the guitar could be better tuned. Bur let's put things into perspective, you guys are musicians, and catching technicalities that maybe a regular person wouldn't. Those are demos and, as I mentioned, I plan to re-record with actual musicians in a studio environment, professional equipment and maybe with slightly different arrangements (and less reverb) to make the songs more interesting.

I am sure that having someone with your experience supervising the work it would come out much better.

So, I look forward to the next stage. Meanwhile I still have other 3 songs to record. If I can put a good band together, the result will be different, otherwise, I'll just work my way to have the demos ready for registration.

Anyway, I enjoy the discussion and hearing from professionals is what will actually make me improve, so keep it coming

I know. That's why I'm listening and will try some of the recommendations. Thing is, I would rather focus on the composing and singing part. Playing is not my thing and I don't think I can seriously do it all myself. Or maybe I just need some extra guitar lessons.
