Crip,
The music to Black Betty was good. I just hated the lyrics. I worked in a lumber mill a few years ago and let it slip that I didn't like the song to one of the guys. He had already taken to calling me "Joe Mama". (I get that a lot).
From that point on, everytime I walked passed that guy (many times each day), he would start singing "WHOA, JOE MAMA, WHAM A BAM!".

Still hate it.

Zip, Jesse's Girl is right up there with 867-5309 for me...LOL...but I've never brought up either song for fear of being laughed out of the band. I'm pretty sure that I'd hate either one after playing it twice.

I do like that Turning Japanese song, though. It's a powerful thing if you can keep the tempo moving, & the audience usually goes for it biggly.

Speaking of Cheap Trick, I always wanted to do Surrender, but never wanted to play I Want You To Want Me.

Howzabout Do You Feel Like I Do? Needs a keyboard, but it would be fun to play. Would it be danceable enough?

Bustin' Out, by Rick James
I Got Da Feelin', James Brown
When Doves Cry, Prince
Respect, Aretha Franklin
Just Cruisin', Heavy D and The Boys

Those are my favorites and not necessarily in that order.

Every time I've played "Respect" or "I Feel Good," no matter the band or the singer, ppl get UP, Mary. Good ones, there!
