if BandMix.com would promote themselves more, and didnt charge out the a$$ for the "upgrade", it would be easier for us to find bands and band members...but ya know, that's just my opinion :) I guess in the meantime there's always MySpace, haha.

Hello Austin! I think that it is all about cost analysis.
While I am frugal, I firmly believe there are some things that you get what you pay for.
How much is it worth to you to find potential band members?
How much income can result from paying $10/a month?
How much do you spend on the instruments/equipment that you use to play? Certainly more than $10 or $120 total in a years time.
I personally don't feel that $10/month is beyond reasonable, but I can tell you that I have a free membership because I have not been able to find people within my community that have similar interest, so at this time, there is no need to pay to contact. I respect and appreciate the fact that I have that choice.
Most other aspects are available free such as voicing an opinion and collaboration with other musicians across the country on this forum.

Just my two cents! :)

It's not so much the cost, I have a free membership the same reason you do, I dont tihnk there's really anyone within my area here on bandmix, and besides, you can put your contact info in the profile so there's no need to e-mail amongst eachother here. BUT what I mean is BandMix doesn't promote themselves enough, I only found bandmix by googling "find band member forums", haha! I'm not sure how others found it, but I've never seen an advertisements on any music websites or myspace. If they used my $10/m to promote themselves, i'd probably do it, haha.

I definitely agree it would be advantageous to us all if they promoted the site. More members = more opportunities.
Good old word of mouth has always been the best avenue of advertisement.
I too found the website by using good ol' google.
