I get my tubes from www.eurotubes.com , I got some 6 months ago for my VHT Valvulators and Carvin X-100 B.
The guy ( his name escapes me now) I ordered them from was very knowlegable and asked me what kind of sound processors, effects pedals/ racks/ floor effects processors and what kind of music I played.
When my tubes arrived, they were perfect for my amp and needs.

I really like Mesa Boogie 6L6's... I think those are actually Russian tubes (Svetlana) renamed for Boogie... But those give me a LOT of clean headroom... (more so than the stock Tungsols that were in it before)

Also, something else I noticed, whichever you decide on, you can modify your bias just a bit to adjust the headroom you get... (although, I am not sure that is a suggested course of action)

AJ what do you think of that Carvin X100 unit?

I would go with TAD's or some winged "C"s. I didn't much of a life span from JJ's.
