Uhh... I just joined the site, and I tried to contact a drummer for my band. Let me get this straight, you HAVE to pay to use the messaging feature??? Or did I miss the button that says I dont want to pay, but would still like to use the most basic feature available? If I did make a mistake, then please help me figure it out.

That is completely bullshit. If every other site on the internet can send messages AND receive them for free, why does this site think it has any right to ask for money? Get with the program, this is the Internet Age, people are not going to be willing to pay for something they can do on myspace for free, with a lot bigger audience to boot. Sell ad space like EVERYONE ELSE DOES. This site is a waste of time, Im sorry I signed up. you guys are fags.

Here's a suggestion: Before posting on a forum to which you are newbie, glance over the previous posts a time or two. Why? Because the exact question that you asked is one that gets asked on here (and usually answered) AT LEAST once a week. If new members would simply look down through the list for about, oh, I don't know, FIVE SECONDS, they wouldn't have to start a new thread about the same topic over and over again. Crip has himself addressed the issue in question a number of times, as well as setting up a shortcut to a previous post ("Here ya go...CLICK ME!")-which I jokingly gave him a hard time about. That's why he didn't respond.
This site is not a waste of time...you could learn a lot here-there's a lot of experience to feed off.
Then again, after reading your posts again, nevermind about all that. You kind of seem like a douche yourself. Bye bye, and thanks for playing.

I've tried a bunch of websites. Yeah nearly all of them are "free." Like you said, myspace is "free." Oh, did you notice on myspace all the banner ads and pop-up ads, and there's always an ad showing some hot chick who wants you to sign up for some hot chat which you have to PAY for. And then I got a whole bunch of friends requests from a bunch of women, ALL OF WHOM showed a picture of their butt in HOT PANTS. Let's see, there was Linda and Shirley and Claudia and Leslie and a bunch more and BY GOLLY THE PICTURE OF ALL THEIR BUTTS WAS EXACTLY THE SAME. Myspace which is "free" happens to be the MOST COMMERCIALIZED BUNCH OF CRAP I'VE EVER SEEN. Let's see, how about Craig's List? It's "free." How on earth do they make any money on Craig's List. Let me count the ways. On second thought I won't count the ways. The douchebag you referred to (Crip) happens to be a PROFESSIONAL guitarist who is in very HIGH DEMAND. There's quite a few other professional musicians on here WHO ARE WORTH CONSULTING with. I VALUE their opinions. In fact Bandmix is CHOCK FULL OF VERY PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS WHO DO NOT B.S. YOU AND GIVE OPINIONS BACKED BY KNOWLEDGE. It is worth paying extra for this knowledge. I rather appreciate the lack of banner ads and pop-up ads and all the commercial B.S. that exists on those other "free" sites. I also appreciate the fact that someone who has never met me before has a CRUSH ON ME. (I know some of you Bandmixers love me but that can't be helped really.) When I see someone who comes on here and spouts trash it really PISSES ME OFF (can you tell?). All the other websites combined aren't nearly as valuable as Bandmix. Period, dumbass.
