Hey Gang,

Just wondeing if anyone has ever went to burn a CD , and during adding of the WAV files to the burn list its telling you "file may be corrupt" and it will NOT let you add it.There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason to this..All files were saved the same, open with the same program (Cool Edit). I have a Cassette Compilation Im working on and Have done MASSIVE editing to these files and would HATE LIKE HELL to have to redo these from the cassette. At first I thought it may be just that.BUT, I took an original file (before noise reduction or any other kind of editing and ITS corrupt too??? SO...???. There were 10 tunes, and of those 10 , #3, #5, and #7 and #9 were good????..AND heres another weird senerio, on # 3 , the heavily edited one was good, the original was bad???..Anyway, If anyone could shed some light on this it would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Is anybody out there (blink blink..??)..WELL, Ive got an update..I got NERO to accept a different WAV formatt..Gonna have to re edit and save to 4 byte PCM type 1 non standard WAV formatt..Dont ask me WHY this B wont do the default of the 32 bit float type.It did on the old NERO..I still cant get WMP to burn a CD...Theres no Choice listed in the D drives propertys for WMP to do this function..(ODD???)..I guy for another board sent me another burner (Infra recorder) to try. SOOO, Ive been at this for 5 HRS today.Im gonna hangin it up for the nite, start all over SUN .. Aint this FUN!!!!.

I'm not 100% sure what your problem is, but here's my advice:

1. Make sure that your CD/DVD is brand new. Meaning that you've never ever used it before. Some burning software "lock" the Cd so you can't edit it later on.
2. When you burn a file/folder, set the burning speed (You know when you choose x4, x8, x16, etc. ? ) to the second lowest.
It may take longer, but it ensures the best quality and less errors.

Hi KIDD.

I'm having problems too using nero, in fact anything. Looking at my system I'm starting to thing there is a rogue something or other lurking since I've never had any kind of burning problem.

This might sound daft but have you added any programs lately that will not let you remove them, missing dll's/uninstall cannot be found etc and so on? I have on my system but I think its time to write zeros and clean the darned thing up again.

I'm not saying it is this but most times it is a conflict in drivers and some rogue software. Anything in your conflicts folder?

Cheers Chippy.

:o AVG! What version the free one?

I had nearly 17 Trojans on my PC which that did not pick up on the home version
That was more than likely the whole cause of my troubles frankly.
I'm using avast home version at present and although it throws what some might call False positives they aren't supposed to be there so getting rid is a good thing.

Sorry I couldn't have been of more help. Much luck

I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT IT!!!!!! DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT!!! WHAT A B!!!...AH HAAA , THIS B WASNT GONNA WHIP ME GANG. I was tryin to BURN 32 bit files.. ..BUT, in my defence, the B coulda told me something about it instead of just sayin "corrupt file" OR the other burner said "inappropriate audio coding". man , I never listen to CD's much ...16 bit sucks... Man , I compare these cassette copies in cool edit at 32 bit VRS the brunt CD at 16bit and man , theres a diff for sure.
NOW, Im really into this, Im goin all the way, Im gonna learn every damn WAV formatt there is and all about sample types , dithering etc.I needed my ass kicked to get me into this. After 3-4 dud CDs and countless editing HRS... Im a new man ..
