I am just an ass! I dont care for unions of any sort or fashion. I detest anyone whom makes a living leaching off of the hard work of others. Especially when they pretend to be doing you some great "service".
The various Guilds of hollywood fame are the greatist reason there is little or no real entertainment left on TV or Movies. The writers guild keeps those hacks in work despite the fact they just regurgitate the same old perverse crap for every single show. Just change the costumes.
A bunch of people in scrubs telling humorless jokes & screwin each other.
A bunch of people in police or fire uniforms telling humorless jokes and screwin each other. You get my meaning by now I am sure.
NO one has the right to tell another where when or how they can conduct there business. "You cant put on that concert unless you hire fifty talentless boobs we call dancers. ETC."

You are welcome.
I would not pretend to tell you what you should or should not do in your musical quest.
Me, I'm a nonconformist at heart. I fight authority and authority always wins. 8)

By your description, it reminds me of TAXI...I spent a year with TAXI and never got a song forwarded to the record companies. That didn't bother me. What bothered me was that I had the same songs reviewed by 5 or 6 of their "trained experts", and recieved polar opposite reactions about them.
One guy would tell me that I had an original title (which was a good thing), the next guy would say that the title didn't fit the song, and I needed to change it.
It was crap like that the whole time. I didn't renew my membership, because I never realistically expected them to forward my songs.
Once, I submitted three songs to a listing, and the review was incredible! The guy LOVED my music...BUT, of course, he didn't forward it. Apparently, it wasn't what they were looking for...whatever.
Moreover, I checked out their forum occasionally, and even the "success stories" had one common theme: NONE of them had made any money from it ...yet.
I am not familiar with the Songwriter's guild, but it sure as hell sounds a lot like TAXI. Good luck with it, and use it as a learning experience.
