So, AC/DC got their new record out. It's been years. What do you think?
Personally, I think it's average. I mean, they haven't changed. Same old coupla chords, palm mute, shout, coupla chords, palm mute, the-whole-crowd-singing chorus. The one I liked the most was Stormy May Day. Bluesy AC/DC and some slide work.

I like AC / DC but from what I have heard of this new one no real surprises. Streight forward rock.

K.I.S.S. No band ever kept this motto (keep it simple stupid) and did a BETTER job with it than AC/DC. This is what a two guitar, bass, drums, vocals band is supposed to sound like. That classic rock line-up has worked wonders for other bands as well, Creedence, Stones, early Dire Straits, etc. I love the way AC/DC has done its recordings over the years, hardly any special effects, little or no reverb. This is IN YOUR FACE, NO B.S., STRAIGHTFORWARD ROCK DONE RIGHT. PERIOD.

According to Angus Young, the term Black Ice refers to playing gigs during the winter in the Young brothers' native country of Scotland. In an interview, Angus said that "it rolled off the tongue" and that it reminds him of "radio warnings up north of black ice."

. . . AC/DC . . . one of the survivors of the `70s . . . except for Bon Scott. But, . . . when Back In Black came out in 1980 . . . the band was renewed.
These guys are Journymen Rockers Y'all !
It's been eight years since "Stiff Upper Lip" . . .
Has it been that long ? AC/DC haven't missed a beat !

I kinda agree. Except that Stormy May Day is better than Rock N Roll Train and The Day That Never Comes is a pretty good song.

There is a little something different with the guitar tone that I dont like, maybe a touch to clean or different pickups.

The production. It's not the early 80s anymore :?
