Alen Price's "House of the Rising Sun" organ lead literally sparked my interest in keyboard playing.

Al Kooper's screamin' Farfisa solo in The Blues Project's "I Can't Keep From Crying Sometimes"

The Iron Butterfly's Doug Ingall's rippin' Vox Continental work on the entire Inagaddadavida album.

Guitarist and all around musical and engineering genius Tom Schultz's smokin' Hammond M3 on Boston's "Smokin". (That dude plays guitar 100 times better then me and keyboards at least twice as good! )

Keith Jarrett's piano on his composition "Country"

Doors Ray Manzarek organ solos on "Take It As It Comes"

Keith Emersons organ playing on E.L.P's version of Aron Copland's "Hoedown"

All the keyboard playing on Tears For Fears "Shout"

Squeeze's Jules Holland's organ in "Another Nail In My heart".

Howlin'J's Farfisa solo in "Tentative Relationship's "Come On To Me"

Goldy McJohn's work in Steppenwolf. What was it they called him - the kangaroo? - cuzza his head-bobbin with that crazy 'fro when he played.

This might sound silly but I love the keyboard solo in Frankenstein...ugh, who did that song again??? Dang, I'm on my way to work again and I can't think worth crap.

It was impressive. His sax playin' was cool too!

HJ,As I was pulling outta the garage, it came to me. I remember them both like it were yesterday. I group the Winter Bros along with the Alleman Brothers. We lived during a very cool era, didn't we?

Oh my goodness, yes we have, Mary! We've seen & heard so much outrageously cool stuff it's ridiculous to even try to list 1/2 of it.

The stuff on your profile sounds pretty cool too, but I especially like the broken down van photo! (I notice that they put the old fella with the hat all the way in the back. I do believe that band promoters think that we elder key ticklers lack "teen appeal" ).

Just curious, are you familiar with Thunderclap Newman?

I've heard the name "Thunderclap Newman" but I can't say I'm familiar with his work.

The wife of the drummer was the head graphic artist for TV Guide, she took the picture at 7am on a lightly foggy day in Sept. (hard to get up at that time of day after you just did a gig) and then worked her magic with PhotoShop.
