I refer you to my response to your "woah" thread, where I said: "I just love it when I hear ppl say that if you don't vote, you haven't the right to complain. Sorry, but that's not true. Those ppl have paid taxes for whatever form of gov't is running things. They are just as deserving of good gov't as the rest of us, & they have paid for it no less than you, in most cases.

"I honestly haven't voted since 1980. I voted for the winner of that election, who was the 1st president ever to declare war on a significant portion of our own ppl, who's failed policy has overloaded our courts & our prisons with ppl who have harmed no one. That bothered me, but I have yet to see anyone who will reverse this dangerous trend, & since I found very little to differentiate the two parties on this & other issues, I just didn't vote after that. I DID pay my taxes. I WAS a contributing member of my society in other ways, as well. I had as much right to complain as anyone who voted, as I simply found no one more worthy of my vote than anyone else who was running at the following elections.

"This time, however, I have become quite incensed with far too much, & I DO see some differences that I will be basing my decision on. If other ppl do not, I don't begrudge them that."

But, in answer to your question - I'm on my way out the door in minutes to do that very thing.

Because you don't vote does not mean you can't complain... If you are a US citizen and PAY TAXES,, you are qualified to complain!!

touche'. POint taken. It just makes sense to me that if you don't do anything to change the situation you have no room to complain.

I think they mean you can't complain about who makes it into office...
feel free to complain about anything else.
I tend to agree (no offense)
we should all do our best to vote, if not out of appreciation for the right, out of appreciation for the men and women... (anthem plays in background) lying face down in the mud at... (walter sobjchecks voice)

Yep, I got up at 5:30am so I could vote before work. I vote because of the millions of people who don't have that right. If you don't vote you're just saying I don't care.

I agree...but given what we have for choices, many folks seem helpless in the "cause". But if any one citizen does not like either candidate, that makes it hard! "Lesser of Two Evils" situation.
But we as TAX PAYING Americans have the right to complain either way.
Not to toss aside your point which is valid in deed!
I know with what is on the table,, I PRAY we don't end up with McCain!

Now back to what we are here for....the music scene! Peace to All.!!

Yes I have. It took over an hour, but I feel good about it. I did not vote straight by party lines & issues, & there were two local ones I have no knowledge of. I didn't vote on the ones I know nothing about.

I hope my buddy makes it as County Commissioner. He's a good guy, & he'd do a good job for us.

I also hope that moron that is our gov loses by a big margin, if only for his lack of environmental conscience.

I voted last Wed. in the early voting. We had a record early turnout down here in the Lone Star State, partially because the frickin lines were so long during the primary election and the lines were long because so many people like us older codgers are concerned about the future of this Great Country. God Bless the U.S.A. be sure and thank every vet. you know and see! and if you can make your voice heard. ROCK THE VOTE !!!!!!!

Got home from work at 4 changed into jeans and walked out the door to vote. Didn't have to stand in any line walked right in and made my choice. We beat the traffic for later on. If I had tried to vote early this am, I would have had a line or if I waited till later, say after 5, I would have had a line, I am sure. They are all set up for long lines later. This is also the first time I have seen police at the voting station...hmmm wonder if they are expecting trouble?

Proud voter here!

I just love this process. The bickering, I can do without.

Thank god this is, hopefully, over tonight. :?

Yeah, bummed about it. I'm still formulating my new musicians oriented political party platform. Hopefully announce my candidacy for President in 2012 right here on Bandmix. All we can hope for now is the winner pleasantly surprises us and does a good job the next four years. Later...

I voted. Went early just to make sure I had time to counter any potential problems, should they arise.

For the first time ever, I actually felt like my vote counted. Locally, statewide, and country-wide.
