If he does some Cornell (Soundgarden) then he can handle the Dream On high note.
Free Bird is really bad :?

I have never been heckled, but if I want to be in this business, I realize it is par for the course. But, the meanest thing that was said to me in a rock band, with whom I was jamming with was "This ain't karaoke night!" He wasn't happy that the leader gave me the oportunity to play with them. Rolled off my back 8)

Mary,
The remark may have "rolled of your back", but you still remembered it.
Such comments are usually uttered by drunken jerks who can't play a lick, and most probably could never get up the nerve to take the stage themselves if they could.

sans, ppl who do that are often humbled when the jerk, or the jerk's friend, stand up, tak ethe axe, & do it all so well that you pee yourself. Do be careful who you challenge.

I heard it happened to Grand Funk once, but I don't know if that's true.

I suggest learning a song that'll put any heckeling idiot in their place. Learn "Asshole" by Dennis Leary. It worked many a time, just dedicate the song to them before you play it and the audience will love it too !!!! 8)

Oh yeah, I will remember that for a long time to come. One thing for sure is I never want to step on anyone's toes. If I thought that I was indeed stepping on someone's toes, I'm gone. This field has plenty of room for every musician that is out there although we sometimes forget that. The guy was drunk... for the record.

I would indeed be impressed if someone could walk up and play my parts to our original songs that they have never heard before with no sheet music.
Not that I am a guitar god, as you are all aware I'm am new to this all.
But in a different situation say a cover band, yes I could see that happening.

I heard years ago that, in a concert, Peter Frampton said he was the best guitarist in the world, and asked if anyone in the audience could play better.
Eric Clapton was in the audience.
He came up on stage and showed Frampton how to play guitar.
