You'll probably have to contact your carrier and dispute the charges. See if there is an opt-out feature from the nefarious hustlers themselves as well. Just be careful you aren't signing up for something else! :x

I've been trying to develop my EQ for years, since I found this info. I haven't gotten nearly as far along as I'd like, but I'm better than I once was.

Been there myself.

Thanks for posting that!

Calling the scammers will likely do little.

Other possible steps...

1) Your carrier, will likely refund anything you are charged by them, even if it happens again, but you may have to complain each time, until it gets fully resolved.

2) Some cell phone carriers allow you to change your account online. You are looking for a "Block All Premium Charges" or something similar. If functioning correctly, this will prevent "ALL" premium charges, such as monthly fees from third party providers.

3) They will also likely sell your info to... uhhh... EVERYONE! Which means potentially, lots of unsolcited junk calls and maybe even junk mail. To stop ALL unsolicited sales calls and faxes and phone messages, there is a federal "DO NOT CALL" list, that legally, sales people have to follow. You will have recourse if they do not. However, you have to allow 31 days or something on that list, for it to get through the pipeline. But you will then have some protection for the future.

Go here for that...

https://www.donotcall.gov

Also, you can get good info here...

http://www.spamlaws.com/

4) File a federal complaint against them...

https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

5) Be wary of opt-outs that require -800 -900 or Toll Free numbers in general. even if you have caller ID blocked, THEY CAN STILL harvest your phone number, and then sell it to spammers or marketers.

6) If you "must" call one of those numbers, then make sure you are talking to a real person, and DEMAND that they remove you from any list. Let them know as well that you signed up for the Federal "Do-Not-Call" list. There are also STATE "Do-Not-Call" lists, and you should probably do both to be safe. Once you tell them to REMOVE you from their list, legally, they must comply. There is however an "exemption" for places you have a business relationship with (Cable company, etc...). Since the site warned you, albeit in small print, that you would be charged, then technically, that may be considered a "business relationship" cause you did, request their service by inputting your cell phone number..

7) In addition to complaining to the FCC (The complaint URL I gave) , you could also complain to the scammer's web host provider. Enough complaints to the FCC and they will take action. Enough complaints to a web host provider, and they will terminate hosting their website.

So, there are lots of options for you.

Depends on how far you want to take it, and how much time you want to spend on it.

If you have a good relationship with your carrier though, they will certainly refund any charges from this company, especially since you actually complained about it BEFORE the charges even came. You will want to make sure your carrier, has notated your account about this, then if there is any mistake, a different account representative, will be able to see the notation on your account, if this happens again.

Hope this helps brother! :)
