Paul, and Steve McQueen were definitely the "cool" actors when I was a kid in the 60s

He was a class act. His marriage to Joanne Woodward stood thru all the Hollywood crap. He didn't get himself in any of the gossip rags. He started up a salad dressing item and donated the proceeds to charity. He never blew his own horn. The younger generation should take notes on how to be a "STAR" from his life.

I will miss him, his legacy is on film forever, so the missing will not be as bad. What a sad day.

Damn I hate getting older.

He was a race car enthusiast. He raced regularly in Newton Falls, Ohio. Hubby said he also raced in the Columbus area. Yeah Robin, getting older sucks.

I'll miss him. Truly one of the greats, in my book.

Getting older doesn't suck for me. I have a new grandkid, which is just as cool as when I had my own new kid when I was 28, I have a new hobby - the fishing & canoing thing. I'm meeting new ppl all the time & having a good time, for the most part. Perhaps the infirmaties of age haven't really hit home for me yet, & things may change when they do, but for now, I'm trying to enjoy as much as I can for as long as I can.

It seems that Paul Newman lived a good life.
Made decent spaghetti sauce too.

Old is a state of mind.

The reason I say getting old sucks, is that as we age, we lose people that are much older than us. It is sad to see all the greats depart from this world. I, personally, do not feel old. I feel like I did when I was 30. Age is a state of mind, and my mind is 29.

Ditto Robin, This is what I mean...I don't mind being fifty one at all. I just hate that everyone who is older than me is, well...older than me. I mainly was thinking of my mom who turned 83 this year. She went on dyalisis last November. She is actually doing quite well. But she was my age just yesterday. If you do not know anyone that old, you think of 83 as being old. But if you do know someone that old, you expect them to be around another 20 or 30 years. You don't think of them as being on borrowed time. :(
