I too am from BR and know of Clifford and several of his friends. He has an American Right to be here and request fellow musician's help and frankly, his posts can often be quite amusing and entertaining, he has kept a group in BR amused for years now.

Yes Phily - He is real.

He wants a young bunch of guys to form a band with him and he does have some special needs. He has been at this for a years. A group of guys I know put a jam session together for him learning and playing 5-6 of the pop songs Cliff wanted to play. He was there and it is recorded on U-Tube.

He does have perfect pitch - A cell phone went off during the session (it was all recorded as the practice room was also a small upstairs home studio at the drummer's house) and Cliffy hit the notes perfectly on his keyboard mocking it .

Although I have never met Cliff in person, I have spoke with him via emails and know the engineer guy and been to his studio and played on his drums who did the session and arranged the event called - Clifford Jam 2008.

Something's wrong with this picture of Cliff. Senior Jalapeno says he's been at this for years. I would assume that during those "years" Cliff has made many contacts in the music business in Baton Rouge. Why then does he seem so desparate to find people? Why does he sound so helpless? The only time he ever responds to those commenting here on Bandmix is to the "attacks" by Crip and Philby, which in my opinion are not "attacks" but actually constructive criticism done in a not so diplomatic way. I think this Cliff guy is a MASOCHIST among other things. He seems to get really excited and produces vigorous replies to Crip (by the way who has a handicapped son of his own like me) and Philby, but when I responded with encouragement and some sound business advice I hear nothing in return. No thanks. Nothing. I think Cliff, if nothing else, is a VERY STRANGE PERSON. He resorts to falling back on his "Christian" values and compares himself to the "devil worshipping" Crip. Sounds like this Cliff is a competent keyboardist at the least (has perfect pitch). I would think that alone should make him a valuable band member. BUT with the "woe is me" attitude, THAT would drag him down in value in my opinion. I wouldn't put up with anybody in my band who is going to drag me down into some self indulgent depression. Hey Cliff, it sounds like you got at least one other musician in Baton Rouge (Senior Jalapeno) who's on your side. Maybe you guys could get together and start a band? I am on his side as you put it mainly because, he has special needs and I am a Christian too and Yes from Baton Rouge. I will defend his right to post here - yes - but neither he, nor (I doubt) you are of the caliber I shed or gig with. Clifford is only looking for young people his age to meet and jam with not start a serious working band. His social skills are lacking and apparently so are yours. I am now on my 40th year as a formally schooled drummer/percussionist and have commercial recording credits and music instructor experiences. You I am certain are closer to Clifford's caliber and musicianship. But don't get excited, he won't accept you either - Your TOO OLD !!!

and he did give his myspace site address. Clifford often gives out too much data - his mom's name, his father's name, his address etc...

If you have a child with special needs then you can appreciate this -
My wife is seizure prone, has a condition where her body produces only trace amounts of sodium, so I to feel compelled to get involved where Cliff is beat up on electronically and concerned. I fought off a bunch of atheist for him one time on a different site at my chagrin. He is autistic but will deny it completety. He is legally blind, but can type and read well based on his computer modifications, which were explained to me at one time , but being a dumm drummer just went over my head. I jammed breifly with a the engineer guy who was trying to help Cliff and formed Clifford Jam on Saturday to amuse him and expose him to some other musicans he was corresponding with at a diff. local site.

I'm sorry I didn't get here sooner to read some of this and enlighten everyone, I have been extremley busy,especially with two hurricanes back to back in South LA. When I saw Clifford had posted here, I thought O NO !!!!

Clifford is prone to anger easliy and that's well understood with always he being the under dog, and could use some anger management therapy and some social skill counsleing, he had refused to get help when I offered some refferals. I felt the best way as a Christian to help Cliff was to help retune his social skills (he's very sheltered, but as you can tell has access to the I-Net to errrr.... meet people). I felt as a music instructor with his socail skills rehoned it would be much easier for him to meet his goals of socailly adapting to a group of young musicians who according to Clifford must have very similar interests to his own!

Clifford only plays melody lines on his lil cascio, he is not a proficient muscian and has never professed to be either. He is actually looking for young men more proficient then he (hence the Music Theory requirements) to help teach him to be in a band. He strictly wants this as a social activity and it would be good therapy for him to acheive his goal.

Big Crip - Don't feel like crap unless you knew all this and still flamed
him unneedlessly . And unfortunately he needs some on occasion as in Tuff Love. Warning - he will be back here to post and he thrives on this attention online, it's the only he gets or not too much of it at home I think.

I'm not going to police this website constantly, if Cliff returns he's basically on his own and his behavior is not beyond reproach or correction.
Scold him if he needs it , just no more suicide or loser cracks please.
