I'd say the drums are the backbone, the bass is the butt muscle, the guitar is the chest hair, and the vocals are a really tasty goatee.....

and a nice set of keys is a really cool shirt!! :lol:

Drums are the basement & foundation, bass is the floor, guitar & keys are the walls, the singer is the roof. Harmonica is the termites that ruin it all.

Ummmm, definitely different theory here. All bands members are equal and it's a sum of it's parts that makes it more than 1+1+1+1=4.

If it's done correctly, working as a team it's more like 1+1+1+1=****.

Does that mean you value your skin more than your skeleton? Or your muscle more than your hand? I don't. i call all members equal as well. These analogies are just describing roles not rating their value.
