I only asked for bands in the Charleston WV area, some with larger egos CHOSE to come from further. You stupid hick @#$%, you should look into the background of things before you open your stupid mouth. I've been to NY, last month in fact, Never Heard of YOU...but I am sure that if you have paid your dues, you have established a fan base and if I was promoting a concert in NY, may want you and your fan base there, but I promote in WV now, and don't want you to come cause nobody would have a clue who the @#$% you are, just like Hayden King, nobody knew who that egotistical jackass that took an hour of the stage time was.

And Crip, seriously, one piece of advice, If you are going to post samples of your music on your page, you should make sure it is samples with alot less mistakes in the guitar parts, hell, Dreams opens with a mistake in the first 15 seconds, sounds like you completely missed the strings with your fingers. As a guy who does this for a living, I can tell you it wont sell in that condition.

can you guys believe this CLOWN? now he's an art critic.
you wouldn't know art if it bit you in the ass!
very professional not giving me a stage time!

where were those "national label" A&R reps?
the Video crew that was recording the show?
the full compliment of gear for the artist?
the dressing room for a half hour prior to "stage time"

when I was 23 I was a KNOWN concert producer in Cincinnati.
you dont know dick about producing a show!

and good luck getting Charleston bands next year...from what several of the bands there, many of the bands there are aware of you and wont play for you. and you sure as hell wont get any from this site!

If you and your cliche music and turbo ego are the standard for this site, I don't want you. This site was the largest waste of sixty dollars in my life. I didn't say Crip's music was bad, just a bad example. I am saying your music, at least the "whore" song you have displayed is cliche and therefore, bad. pay attention mr. "I was a known promoter", the sound crew I hired were very professional. Had you kept in touch and followed up on the website, you would have known there was a change of sound crew and you would have gotten in touch with them in advance like you were supposed to and you would not have had the problems you claim to have had. For someone who claims to have promoted, have you forgotten how important it is for the bands to communicate with the sound guy? Should I put your email up that proudly boasts your credits as given to me by you, that covers the last 2 years of song writing (45 in two years, no wonder they're sounding cliche) but never a mention of promotions? I know that I can verify your credentials if you'd just tell me what major artists you booked, I can verify with their agents? Put up or shut up Hayden of Hazard, KY, often referred to as the concert promotion capital of the world...lol

lol man you are a putz aren't you! I called the sound man, and he never returned my call.
look you can squirm and wiggle all you want. your actions said it all.

YOU ARE A MORON and I wont continue on with your childish rant!

   #1. That tune was done in my basment in 1980 with my first band ever "Spellbound" I just started playing, numbnuts..

#2. Never said I did it for a living... I'm actually a manager and Jiu Jitsu teacher!

#3. Just picked up the guitar last year after not playing it since 1987... and still wouldn't lower myself for anyone by selling tickets to my own show!

Again... before you critique anyone... do some research.. my story about those recordings and about my playing was posted earlier....

Ya see... I just do this for the fun of it.... for some ridiculously odd reason, our fans love it and I'm still shocked that I'm actually making side money doing this.... never said I was pro... for cripes sake, we do covers... You're the jackass that says he does this for a living but still expects others to do the legworkfor him... you wouldn't last a second in the music scene out here.... and furthermore you wouldn't las even a minute in the ring with any of my 10 y.o. students,,,, so if you want to prove that you're more than just an internet tough guy, lemmme know when you're out my way and I'll gladly give yu a lesson or 2.... free of charge... but.... I'm gonnna go sell tickets for this one, slick!

Why do the simple minded always resort to violence when they are called out on their stupidity? If you are a JuJitsu Master, you should be more disciplined than that and if you are teaching others the art without that discipline, then your students are being robbed of a very necessary part of the martial art. Besides that, I did not say the music was bad, just a bad example. I do not discredit your following, but believe me when I tell you that the bars you work for would not hire you if you weren't selling tickets. Not one member of the audience at this concert was there to see Hayden King, so he was a waste of time on the stage I paid for, MY STAGE. Anyone who cannot see the logic in requiring bands to put up or shut up in order to get a paying gig (advance ticket sales being the only way to prove you have the following), has never invested their own money into promoting music events. I am sure you and your band did not start out on the scene making the bucks you claim to make now, you probably had to play alot of free shows before making any money, thats the way it works...to get the paying gigs you have to put up or shut up. Its simple math logic. I noticed Hayden cant name a single big name act he has worked with.

You know Ace, I am not familiar with a lot of the bands here but their gripes do seem very valid.

You do not do yourself any good by becoming caustic in your remarks. You end up coming off like boss hog from the dukes of hazard.

Even if they rip your fat ass to China, you should try to remain composed else you will no doubt lose credibility.

Another important point is if these bands had a huge fan base, they wouldn't need you. It's not generally respectable to do and say where you are going.

Now I see what is being said and it really didn't start as bad as this, you made it worse by becoming personally offended when maybe this is a lot to do with business as usual for you.

I know I wouldn't want to get within 1000 miles of this show now, primarily of what I have read.

good gig = great

good management = great

composure when under pressure = the difference between amateurs and pros.

Do not rile up the animals, try to soothe them and explain calmly what the problem is and what you would do to correct it or what could be done next time.

Friends come and go, but enemies accumulate.

I wish you well in your time of stress, but I don't think handled that well at all. Diplomacy is not something that is dipped in something else.

I wont address the Idiot fake ass promoter but for the rest of you....

#1..yes I did have fans there and one of them made him refund her money because he cut me short and cut the other band she came to see completely. quite a few said we were the BEST ACT there.
#2.. I would never mention anyone I worked with to a whacko like him!
#3.. I took up for his lying ass on here and regret it
#4.. his "claim to fame" is his brother was a signed act
#5.. my "cliche" music has the attention of a "real" top level producer and I've already turned one down!
#6.. when I produced concerts and promoted for clubs, EVERYBODY GOT PAID! I lost 10k on my very first show (a 2 day outdoor event that rained out) and "I" took responsibility for that and paid everyone involved. I didn't blame anyone else!

I did meet quite a few good people there.
I got an offer to play in LA
3 bands offered to open for me!

The only thing I'm going to add to all of this is that I recognize a professional when I see one. As in Ace's first post here on Bandmix, he has once again been lured into a pissing match with the natives. A pro (as he claims to be) would have ignored all of the negativity and directed his attention to positive responses, only addressing the negative responses when they presented an oppurtunity to enlighten others (and of course, promote his business).
Instead, Ace has bickered with Hayden about various issues and exchanged words with Crip.

You're not fooling anyone, Ace.

I'll admit.. I'm harsh... I have a quick temper.... I'm abrasive....but... I'm just sick and tired of all these "promoters' and "managers" always expecting artists to do all their dirty work and pound the pavement in order to make their show a success. If this gentleman was as successful as he claims to be, he wouldn't waste his time trying to get "no-names" to perform at his show with the expectations of their ticket sales bringing in the bucks exclusively for his benefit. I have written in the past about my disdain toward club owners only paying us for who we bring in even though the club is packed and we're the only band playing! That's ludicrous! If the crowd is applauding and drinking, and tipping and begging for an encore.... who the fuk are they to only pay us for the few who mention the name of our band? Back when I toured in the 80's over the east coast, we knew exactly how much we were getting paid before we even set foot in the door.... We've done gigs very far from our fan base but we still got paid and the person who booked us was responsible for the advertising in order to draw the people! We had enough to worry about as far as hiring a sound crew, light crew, roadies and transportation without having to worry if we were going to draw our personal fans miles and miles away from our stomping grounds! It started out that way with my present band at the beginnning of this year and we put a stop to that.... we made friends with very popular bands out here and showcased ourselves by doing short sets with them and the crowd went crazy and we all started obtaining new fans real quick... now we are able to negotiate a salary with the club owners and even though it's not thousands, it's a helluva lot better thn what Ace was trying to make these artists do. IT'S DEAMEANING AND DISGUSTING TO MAKE BANDS GO OUT ON FOOT AND PERSONALLY SELL TICKETS FOR HIS SHOW AND THAT'S WHAT PISSES THE CRAP OUTTA ME! :x

thank you Joseph for an opportunity to end this rant.
I would have prefered to take the high road myself, but I feel I owe to the musicians here to expose him for what he really is, a con and a liar!

I didn't see any new car or custom chopper there that was to be given away either

@Ace, you are aware that you live in WV right?
Well known for it's fiscal importance, influence in the music industry, and lack of hicks.

No offense to my WV buddies.
