Hiya e1 from the state of Nevada, just signed on with this site 2day and thought I'd look around in the forum( sounds like a pack of nuts to me, but ain't we all??). I'm an ex-musician that has picked up his guitar again after several years to find out that I can ACTUALLY STILL PLAY........a little! But, I'm having fun again and hope to find others with musical interests in my local? area. And BTW, the name is Brian.

We are Big Papi and Jimmy C. Our group is called the BIG IVORY TICKLERS, a Rockin' Comedy Piano Show.

Jimmy is from Dallas TX and I am from Oklahoma City OK.

We were both former dueling piano players but for the last year put together a cleaner and unique product out there vs. the "same ol' show" type of monotany we were used to.

We are looking forward to meeting people that can put us in touch with good clubs looking for good talent, as we have clubs in our area looking for the same. Hopefully the networking will get us all gigging more across the country than in just our own states.

Look forward to talking and networking with all of you!

Hi guys - it's great to see some other keyboardists here for a change.

Listen, if you are booking and traveling, you need to check into this venue here in my home town (Salt Lake City). It's called The Tavernacle, and it's a dueling piano themed club. It has done surprisingly well and I'll bet the owners would love to liven up the usual mix by having some visiting performers. Check them out! ->

Best of luck to you, and let us know how you're doing.

Just recently I put together a world music ensemble that is still in rehearsals. But before that I was with "Stonecircle", and did lots of solo performances. To date I pick up piano and or celtic harp gigs when they look attractive.

Does anyone else know of some good piano rooms around the country, or hotels that would find the type of act we do interesting?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Vocalist aching to stretch these chords!
I won't turn away any chance to get into a studio so even if you need a back-up ooh and aah girl feel free to contact me for some samples of my voice and/ or writing ability. I have stage experience as well. I really like Stoner Metal/ punk/ alternative/ emo/Jam Band/Classic Rock kinds of music but I've done other stuff in the past with no problem
have been told that I have great stage-presence, a "hot" image and that I have a powerful and unique voice. I am confident but not like those egotistical vocalists that don’t help the rest of the band to move equipment for shows.
I need people that know what they are doing and love to practice and perform.

Do you have any recordings of yourself online? I didn't see anything on your MySpace site.

Okay,NJ checking in kids! I am so enjoying this whole Bandmix thing and the chance to chat with other musicians and artists. I'm just getting back to what I was born to do and as someone mentioned, life happens and I let some stuff steal my thunder. I'm 53, singer-songwriter, started playing the guitar when I was 9, thanks to AL Caiola and Mr. Cash! I've never looked back. I'm just starting to work on a CD and I just want to encourage everyone to keep going no matter how old you are and if I can help in any way, give me a shout! I will be back! TESSA

Big Papi, I wish I knew how important networking was when I started playing music. I love your idea about sharing info about clubs, etc. in our own area. There's a brand new one that just opened in our town, and it's a comedy club/ dinner kind of place. It may interest you guys if you wanna hit the Jersey shore. I'll have to find out the name of the place for you. Love keyboards, I even took lessons in another century but had to stop. But I play a great guitar. When I record, I like the guitar and keys together. So, I'll check out that place for you. Hey, I was in Colorado, Denver to be exact, back in 1990, for a convention. Nice! Anyway, you can't get any better than music and laughter! Sounds like a great gig! You go!

Sound great TEssa.

Would LOVE to play dinner theaters. Those are actually our favorite places to play. . .you know like Supper Clubs and the lot.

Our show really works well in that enviroment as we are pretty much like a Victor Borge meets Weird Al with a touch of Abbot and Costello.

It is one of the most unique concepts out in the market today.

But don't get me wrong. . .we will go ivory to ivory with any tickler out there that thinks were are only comedians. We got some crazy fingers that reach out and touch someone all the time (through music of course)

Back at ya on the help tip for exchanging community info. You can buy alot of those Musicians Atlas stuff but it is better to come in on someone elses recommendation or knowledge. SO let me know if you need any help in Colorado!

What's up guys?!

Like most of you I am addicted to music. My mind is constantly full of it. ALways thinking about the next project to start developing. This seems like a good place for such discussions.

Been a keyboard player all my life but like a lot of folks I dabble in finger style acoustic, bass and drums too.

Hope everyone had a rockin' good holiday!

Peace, KTM

Hey, everybody, Tessa , wishing everybody an early Happy New Year and a healthy, productive one, too! KTM, I notice you like Prince and Marvin Gaye. I went to see him at the Garden in NY 2 yrs. ago, Prince of course, cos it would have been pretty amazing if the other guy was still around, huh? Anyway, welcome , and BTW, I was not disappointed at that Prince show ! He really connected with his audience and made a point to say how much he appreciated their support all these years. Don't understand how anyone can't be influenced by the guy, he's incredible! This is a great site. I, appreciate all of you!
