fisherman bob wrote:Rick, I understand your not being interested in politics. This long, drawn out political campaign has worn me out, BUT you have to admit this Sarah Palin character is very intriguing, kind of like a female version of John Wayne. I think she can go to Washington and do some serious ass-kicking. Unfortunately right now I can't think of too many interesting things to say. We recently added a kick butt lead guitarist. Hopefully we'll get to the studio sometime soon and record a killer CD. Now THAT would be interesting. If I can think of anything else interesting I'll chime back in...

The only problem I have with Palin, Bob, is that shes a University of Idaho grad. >:-(
Arrogant slimeballs they are! (there has to be 'some' decent people that went through that university, but I havent met one yet.)
I hate the U of I vandals. So much so, that I dont know if I can bring myself to vote for that side now.

That might be the strangest reason I ever heard NOT to vote for somebody. On second thought I voted against Al Gore because his hairdo and make-up job during a debate with Bush kind of reminded me of Boris Karloff. Kind of gave me the creeps. I guess that's not very interesting. Later...

Hmmm...if soy is so damned good for you, how's come it wasn't even considered a food until the 1920's?

Dropped my son off at the airport yesterday morning. He's off to get my grandson out in Washington. The crazy chick who bore him wants to give him up. I'm kinda anxious about him (my grandson). I mean, I'm worried that she might have done drugs & stuff while she was pregnant. Why's she suddenly willing to give him up after she absconded to the other side of the country with him? Is there something about him that she can't handle? When she left, she said she was a lesbian. But now she says she has a bf. I'm very concerned & more than a little worried about what my son's getting into all by himself in Wash state. At least there was a paternity test, & we know the kid is Ian's. He's coming back tonight & I can't wait! A whole new little mind to warp like I did to my son! I wonder if he'll like Tabasco Sauce? He's 17 months old. My poor kid hasta hold him on his lap on the plane for 8 hours to save the $400 fee for another seat in the plane. Why don't they make little kids sit in car seats on planes?

I'm putting the new band on hold until I know what's what with him. Boy I hope he's okay.

I knew that this girl was trouble the moment I laid eyes on her. I warned my son about seeing women with tattoos on their faces. She has a lil star & moon right next to her left eye. I can only think of one other person with a tattoo on his face, & that's Mike Tyson. I'm glad my boy still has both of his ears, esp since he shaves his head. A missing ear would be really noticeable when you shave your head, don't you think?

My sadistic wife sent me this recipe. She knows I'm trying to lose weight.

"5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

"4 tablespoons flour (that's plain flour, not self-raising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla essence
1 coffee mug

"Put dry ingredients in mug, and mix well.
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla essence, and mix again.

"Microwave for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

"Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

"EAT!

"Note: This can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous.

"And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!"

So my wife's trying to get off that damned Effexor that she's been on for two years. She skips a day, & spends three days trying to keep going while she's dizzy & getting those "brain shivers" or "brain shocks" or whatever you want to call them. It's pretty tough on her. It sounds so frikken weird that a little pill can do so much damage, when it's been created to do good. It isn't the 1st time, & if they keep dumping new crap into our systems like they are now, it won't be the last. I'm doing my best to keep her spirits up, but it seems like she has a whole lot to complain about.

Did you know that the Brazillian Wandering Spider is the world's most poisonous critter? It's leg span can get 5 inches across! In some cases if you get bitten it can kill you in a single hour! They're pretty common, I've read. I'm glad I don't live in the rain forest. They are also called Banana Spiders cuz they often hide in the trees & get shipped with the fruit by accident. If you ever work in a grocery store, watch out for the spiders in the banana boxes! They are very aggressive & fast & want to bite a lot. They even eat birds & lizards & stuff, & they aren't afraid of much.

I hope you've found some of this stuff interesting.

a group of doctors and scientist took 6 severely diabetic patients to a large home in Arizona and put them on a diet of raw vegetables and no meat for 6 months. after 6 months they were not only completely off of insulin, they were completely free of any sign of diabetes! also without changing diet, slowly replacing insulin with the base metals cromium and selenium (in chelated or colloidal form) has been done to eliminate insulin dependancy. switching to a more alkaline and less acidic base foods will also cure and prevent many problems. one thing is for sure; western medicine has no desire to "cure" any disease. it's much more profitable to "treat" symptoms! we're ALL deficient in BASE MINERALS because our soils have been so since the beginning of the industrial age and that is the real reason for such a plague of diseases.
instead of spending $10 a month on this site (or along with) spend $5 a month for one of the most informative programs in existence (and also sometimes the most bizzare) which has 5 to 20 million listeners worldwide ( the largest continual audience on radio) coast to coast am....it started as a truckers program over 25 years ago and turned into the coolest show I've ever heard. go to www.coastocoastam.com and check it out. you can also listen on air on AM from midnight till 5 am, but depending on where you live it may fade in n out a lot.

Hey Hayden, that kinda reminds me of the more recent claims that people are making that going to the GFCF diet (Gluten-free Casien-free) cures autism.

We tried it on our daughter (classic autism spectrum disorder) and it's wreaked havoc in many ways. Financially, it was a huge $$ investment for very little food, and as far as health benefits go, it seems to have aggravated her digestive system and she really hasn't been "normal" since. Needless to say, the diet itself had no impact whatsoever on her autism.

Diet is always important, and eating less meats is always a good idea, but some of these diets are restrictive and demanding, to the point of dangerous.

From the net:
Third wave ska
Main articles: Third wave ska and Ska punk
In the 1980s, bands influenced by the 2 Tone ska revival began to form in the United States and other countries.[9] The first well-known American ska revival band was The Toasters, who played in a 2 Tone-influenced style and paved the way for the third wave ska movement. Other notable early third wave ska bands included The Uptones, Fishbone, Operation Ivy, Let's Go Bowling and Bim Skala Bim.

Many third wave ska bands played ska punk and its subgenre, ska-core. Ska punk took 2 Tone and increased the punk rock elements while ska-core blended ska with hardcore punk. However, some third wave ska bands — such as The Allstonians, Hepcat and The Slackers — continued to play in a more traditional 1960s-influenced style. By the early 1990s, ska revival and ska punk bands were forming throughout the United States and many other countries. An enormous growth of the ska punk genre occurred after the ska-core band Mighty Mighty Bosstones signed with Mercury Records in 1993 and appeared in the film Clueless with their first mainstream hit "Where'd You Go?". Sublime, No Doubt, Reel Big Fish, Suicide Machines, Buck-O-Nine, Less Than Jake, Save Ferris, Goldfinger, Mustard Plug, Spunge and The Aquabats also gave the ska genre more mainstream attention. By the late 1990s, mainstream interest in third wave ska bands waned as other music genres gained momentum. Some of the most popular ska punk bands have maintained a steady following in the 2000s, although many of those bands have moved away from their earlier ska-influenced sound to embrace other genres.

In short it doesn't stand for anything....it just is.

We now have a virus that convinces average adult cells to change to imitate the surrounding cells. Goodby stemcell reaserch? May well be the cure for diabetes and many other organ related diseases. The offshoot of this could also lead to the reversal of many forms of cancer.

Ska (pronounced /ska/ or in Jamaican Patois /skja/) is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s, and which was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae.[1]

Ska combined elements of Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues. It is characterized by a walking bass line, accented with rhythms on the offbeat. In the early 1960s, ska was the dominant musical genre of Jamaica, and it was also popular with British mods. Many skinheads, in various decades, have also enjoyed ska (along with reggae, rocksteady and other genres).[2][3][4][5] Music historians typically divide the history of ska into three periods: the original Jamaican ska scene of the 1960s, the 2 Tone ska revival that started in England in the late 1970s, and the third wave ska movement, which started in the 1980s.

Rocksteady is a music genre that was most popular in Jamaica, starting around 1966, and its reggae successor was established around 1968.[1]

The term rocksteady comes from a dance style that was mentioned in the Alton Ellis song "Rock Steady". A successor to Jamaican ska, and a precursor to reggae, rocksteady was performed by Jamaican vocal harmony groups such as The Gaylads, The Kingstonians, The Maytals and The Paragons. Dances performed to rocksteady were less energetic than the earlier ska dance moves. Rocksteady differs from ska musically as the tempo is slower and more relaxed. The bass is heavier and more prominent in the mix and in addition, the bass lines abandon the earlier "walking" style of the ska period in favor of more broken, syncopated figures. The ska-style back beat and the emphasis on the offbeat carried over into rocksteady.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I like reggae, but I hate ska. Especially what they refer to as ska these days.
I hate cantaloupe, and, generally, hippies.
I detest drunks.
I love ketchup, tabasco, green chille, and RobinL.
