We were listening to that stuff the other day at work. I really love that they can take that approach and everything. My only complaint was that some songs were in no way like the originals, the music and arrangements were so changed that the lyrics were the only thing remaining from the original.

Other than that, I love a lot of what they do.

Hey, thats what my band is doing...We're going to do a Metalcore cover of Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend". It's gonna be epic, haha

ok so he definitely didn't do chop suey justice, its a angry song that touches on the idea of being dismissed and down played, and in a lounge style I found it very scary is the only word I can use, he nailed my own worst enemy though....its all a matter of what the song was supposed to be to begin with its like alanis morriset (however its spelled) covering my humps by the black eyed peas (no I don't regularly listen to either) but uhhm yeah its dreadful its all just a matter of opinion

I don't think you understand the purpose of Richard Cheese's music...It's supposed to be funny...A joke...Taking angry songs and making them calm and joyful. Just like when he covered "Down With The Sickness" by Disturbed:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhaQlFLXK4c

It's supposed to be funny. Cause that song is so violent and angry, and he makes it seem happy.

Yeah...like that old lounge lizard routine that Bill Murray used to do on SNL. That stuff cracks me up for some reason. I think it's cuz I've met a lot of ppl that seem a bit like that to me when I hear them.

There's a lot of ppl that try to "pretty up" every song they sing with a real sweet voice that just doesn't work on most r & r, & I'm not shy about telling them so when they ask me what I think.

I was really amazed at Paul Anka, I'm almost ashamed to say. That dude has some PIPES for a guy in his '70's! Those beautifully clear highs he pulled off on that spoof were good, you gotta admit.

Richard Cheese' voice has similar qualities. He has a very good range, & it shows in spite of his overkill approach to the songs. I'd love to hear him do some serious material, cuz I think he's really got some great abilities in spite of the tripe he does.

RyanStrain seems to have right, it’s about satire a spoof, not meant to be compared to the original I don’t think, Richard Cheese with his renditions has a diffusing quality to an otherwise anger loaded message and he does it in an amusing and unusual way there lies his success.

I'd like to learn the reaction of the original bands who authored these song when they hear their dark, angry message so purposely infused in their song rendered harmless by Richard Cheese lounge interpretation.

I think ole "Dick Cheese" is entertaining, but I still don't like him.

In his defense, I don't like "lounge acts" in general.

He is only 1 step above mime status (imo). lol
