I'm confused... I can't message anybody about band stuff... You can only contact people if you get the premium membership and buy it?

CAREFULL!!!!!

You're going to piss people off if you start asking questions like that.

According to Capt. Scott:
"They charge to send messages back and forth to find people on this site. If you use the forum to find people, you are circumventing the process and their fee(s).
If you still don't get it, I can draw you a picture if you have a crayon."

But there's no way you could have known, because it isn't mentioned.

Ouch...lol

Hey guy, yeah, you gotta pay to contact people directly, BUT you can set up your profile to attract potential bandmates and for anyone who does contact you, can are allowed to reply. A nice trick is to never delete any private messages, so that you will always be able to re-contact that person in the future.

You can also put some vague contact info in your profile, for other people who don't have a membership but would want to contact you. Although bandmix will delete it if they become aware of it. Their filter already takes out email addresses, so you have to be slick in how you do it.

Instead of email@email.com
try
email me at: email dot com

good luck

As far as I can see, you can only respond to a person one time, unless you have a premium membership. Last time I tried to respond to a nice email I got, however, the service didn't even allow me to do that one time response.

It is a bit frustrating, but wtf, I haven't spent anything yet, so who am I to complain?

I'll prolly drop the 10 buck fee later this month, if any of my work comes in. I'm getting tired of living on a shoestring while work drops out from under me. The last 2 weeks have been hell on the $ front, & I've been delayed yet again this week. GRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Okay, I'm done whining...please return to your regular program.

OMG you guys are killing me.

WITH A FREE MEMBERSHIP: you can respond to any and all that write you first.

WITH A PAID MEMBERSHIP: you can be the person to initiate the message.

Was that so difficult to decipher?

So, a FREE MEMBERSHIP allows you to respond, but not to initiate contact. Only PAID MEMBERS are allowed to initiate contact.

Scott...I'm typing this real slow for you, so you can get it this time...the last time I tried to respond to an email that I got, this service wouldn't let me, & continued to refer me to the upgrade.

I've been on here long enough to know what I'm talking about.

I have been able to reply one time to someone's email before this, but this last time, I could not.

Do I need to get the crayons for you?

I don't know why this happened. I only know that it DID happen when I tried to reply to Nick BIG HEAD FRED's email that I received on the 15th of this month.

I can only assume it was a glitch, since I've been able to do it before.

Did you get it this time?

that's odd. Before I got the paid membership, I was able to re-initiate contact with anyone in my saved mail(s). I'd just pull up their last message and hit reply. I joined simply to be able to initiate contacts, but just un-joined this month because finances got tight... had to make some cuts. I can still initiate I guess since I'm paid for the month, but next month, I will try to initiate a reply from way back and see if that still works... Maybe the made a change since then

I'll always have a paid membership unless the majority of you guys get piss*d off at me and tell me to get out of here. Later...

For the sake of us all, BandMix, puh-LEEEEZ make this topic a STICKY!

I'm getting SO tired of all of us having to tell ppl time & time & time again...not to mention the ascerbic remarks that just go on forever each time this subject comes up.

It should be on the very top of every page in the frikken forum, too, so perhaps the newbies can see it everywhere hey look.

Thank you

LOL Philby-maaan, I think you just can't hit ENTER.

I was always able to reply to the person that messaged me and it's happened some 5x now.

Maybe you don't get the REPLY feature? Am I saying it slow enough?

Did I crap in your direction? Kramer as till now, I never had course to say much at all. Don't flip the switch.

And it gets worse. I never mean outright disrespect until I hear from the "hell bellies" from WV or Timbuk 3. You know the variety.

And if you don't want a nose full of slap, you remember that. Else, I say if you feeling froggy, LEAP.
