This is a link to some new stuff we're working on. We need a drummer and bass at this point. Anyone interested, let me know. Stolen is all me (vox, guitars, drums and bass). And I know, the solo blows beyond blows. Stare is an acoustic tune with both my lead guitarist and myself.

The rest is snipets of tunes in the works. All opinions, good and bad, are welcome. Have fun. Carpe forkum (seize the fork)

I liked, winter of discontent, omen, stolen. I just personally dont like softer stuff. Lost my dad when i was 8, maybe thats why I have rage issues. Ironically he was a full-time pro musician.

Very good stuff in my opinion. Liked that guitar sound in omen.

Thanks man. I can't be angry all the time... The acoustic tune is actually pretty sadistic. If you listen to it again, pay close attention the lyrics. It's based off of Ed Poes' Tell Tale Heart. I love all things Poe from Lenore to the Raven to the Fall of the House of Usher.... on and on.

What I liked:

Drowning - Great mood/feel

Inner vision & Stare - both decent songs.

It's really refreshing that you generated a totally different feel from song to song, no two sound alike or can be confused with each other.

Disliked:

Winter of discontent solo - I guess I know it's a self-indulgence solo song, but it lacks any hooks or solo progression that would interest any non-guitarist.

Stolen - Just not my thing, that type of vocals and music just doesn't do it for me, so it makes my opinion invalid.

The Omen - decent chalkboard idea, could really garner a few good things from it. The soloing is a bit overkill.

Take my criticisms lightly, as you are a better soloist than I, but I would stress the philosophy that a mediocre 30 second solo is better than a 5 minute shred-fest, especially to the common listener. A truly great 30 second solo is better than both.

It all sounds pretty good, there's some really good ideas in there to be refined. I'm sure you are more than capable of really bringin it together when you get a capable drummer and bass.

Christ dude, don't worry about my feelings. Believe me, I won't spare yours. I'm one of those rare people who takes as well as dishes.

Like I said in my original post, most of the stuff is ideas in the owrks. Hooks and whatnot haven't been developed in half of them. In Stolen, even I think the solo is really, really gay. But, I'm limited in my solo abilities. As you can hear from the bass, drums and rhythm sections, I am very rhytmicaly orientated rather than the super-noodle lead stuff.
That's why I have the lead player in John.

What's funny is someone was under that impression that Primus wrote that intro and actually argued with me for longer than I cared to discuss it...silly rabbit.

This is true. However, I will have to assume the individual in question could argue with a stop sign. That is to say, it takes him 2 hours to watch 60 minutes.

The omen rocked and stare was cool but i thought there were a couple of times it really could have took off,but it stayed soft and needed more punch.
