Well, I FINALLY got a song recorded, but I can't seem to get it uploaded onto my profile. I've tried twice, & gotten an error message. I was able to successfully upload it to www.juliesaylor.net but it took almost 30 minutes (damn dial-up!). So, if anyone has any tips for me, I'd like to get it up here as well. It's not an original; it's a cover of Sweet Home Alabama. Meantime, I guess I'll keep trying.

what seems to be the issue? If I upload all the files inWMA format it has no trouble...are you an upgrade member? B/c I think you can do MP3 format...Ill have to see, though. You just browse the music in your music folder. If it is the format giving you issues I can convert it to WMA, MP3 or whatever format necessary for you...just send your song to guy_who_raves@yahoo.com and I'll send it back w/ the correct format. If you want I can even master it for you.

Hey, Julie,
It usually takes me about 4 - 5 minutes to download a song.
I started downloading your 'Sweet Home Alabama,' and it said it'd take another 25 minutes to download it.
Sorry - although I'd like to hear you, I cancelled the download.
The problem isn't so much the 'dial-up,' rather it's the format.
If you take that same song, and convert it to mp3, it'll compress to about 3-1/2 Mbytes, and sound the same.
I'm not a paid member, but I can upload both wma and mp3.
Non-paid members only have 5MB of space, however . . .
.
I think you can download programs (for free) that'll do the conversion for you.
Anyway, good luck with it.
- like your song list, by the way.

Okay, then the size is the problem. It's 8.9mb as it is, & I'm a freebie. Thanks for the offer, Chemical. If I e-mailed it to you it would probably take FOREVER! Think you could just snag it from the website & convert it?

Thanks for the compliment, Bass Boy!

Hmmm... I don't think my box can handle anything that big (there's another one for ya, Bass Boy!). E-mail me at auburndiva@hotmail.com & I'll give you a temporary password so you can dump it right back onto the site, okay?

Okay I converted it to a 256kbps/MP3 high quality track and raised your gain a little b/c it was kinda low volume. If there are any problems w/ "all I wanna do" lemme know. ;) anyhow the sweethome alabama file might have a problem cuz it just stoped mid download everytime. I don't know if its a coding issue or what but I'll keep trying. It only takes me about 1 minute to DL songs but the "swa" goes retarded.......maybe try reloadig ;)

I think something went wrong with the conversion. When I played All I Wanna Do it was very distorted. Sweet Home Alabama is buffering now. Altogether I was able to record The Game Of Love, Anything But Down, All I Wanna Do, & Sweet Home Alabama, & got them all onto www.juliesaylor.net. I'm ready to drop-kick the recording program, though. My boyfriend let me borrow his M-Audio Fast Track with Session, & it keeps shutting down on me. I import the audio (yes, I'm using karaoke tracks for now), add the vocals, & it shuts down when it's halfway through saving the composition. I've uninstalled & reinstalled it about 3 times, & I still can't seem to get it to work right. My recycle bin is FULL! Has anyone used this program before?

Okay, Anything But Down was small enough to upload here. I couldn't use the ones you converted, Chemical. They were too distorted. Thanks anyway. I'm going to re-record Sweet Home, though, because I can save to a lower quality with a smaller file size. That is, if I can keep the darn program running long enough to finish it!

hmmm...wierd.....i've never had anything distort when adjusting the gains and I have a full recording console ....even in Windows media player your song wasnt at full volume... if you listen to our groups tracks on Acidplanet and myspace it doesnt distort. Hmmm...okay I 'll try sending your files w/ out any gain this time. I didn't even do it that much the first time...and the playback was great...no clipping or distortion whatsoever.
