To pay someone millions of dollars to expound on an unproven theory (Al Gore is laughing all the way to the bank) is INSANE. Just like we paid people who gave speeches before Y2K. I need to think of a really scary scenario and then go on a multi millon dollar speaking tour. Are we under a yellow, orange, or red terror alert? Have any of you duct taped your houses yet? Is the ozone hole getting larger these days? Do we all need to apply sunblock to our entire bodies each day? How many feet have the oceans risen this year? Are the polar bears extinct yet? Are we going to have a bunch of hurricanes like Katrina this year? Have you reduced your carbon footprint yet? I just need to go fishing more often and not worry about stuff like this. Later...

Amen, brother...

You can't wait till the polar bears are gone to save them unless you clone one.
In 1870, most of America ignored the fact that the Indians were bound for extinction. Greed and avarice carried the day. If we want to be able to see polar bears a hundred years from now, we'd better start killing and stuffing them today.

gentlemen, gentlemen.. please..

perhaps you haven't heard the latest findings concerning this 'global warming'

The Irish review recently posted, and was backed up by many authorities that the "changes we're now seeing in our biosphere, can be directly attributed to the UNDER indulgence of Guinness. It's a fact: More Guinness= less global warming."

wow, can you believe that?!

Actually I am a catch and release guy. If I'm fishing with somebody who wants to keep some fish I'll give them away. Otherwise I throw everything back. I know a number of different occasions I have caught the exact same fish a bunch of different times (the fish had distinctive markings and/or some unusual injury). One rainbow trout in particular I caught probably a dozen times over a two year period until it got big enough to keep, then I brought it home for my mother to eat. That's what I call a game fish. A few years ago I caught a small crappie below the spillway at Hillsdale Lake in Kansas. Actually I foul hooked the fish in the middle of its back. I reached down to unhook the fish in the water and the line broke. The fish escaped with my lure stuck on its back. About five months later I was fishing the same place and hooked a crappie. When it was a few feet from shre I noticed a funny "growth" on its back. I got the fish in and to my huge surprise it was the exact same fish. The lure was covered with some slime. The funny thing is I caught the crappie the second time with the exact same lure (a Mepps Aglia size 0 silver blade spinner). What was even weirder was I was talking with a game warden while I was reeling in the crappie. We both had a really good laugh. Later...

Hey Bob. I just got another open reel, & a better rod. This one's spun with 4 lb test. I went to a friend's pond to try it out, but DAMN it's tough to keep it from fouling up all over the place! Any suggestions?

It's got some gold-toned thin line on it, & it's twirly as heck as it comes off the reel. I knew when I 1st saw it that it was gonna be a prob, but I'm at a loss on how to fix it or use it effectively. It doesn't cast as well as the stuff I'm used to, either. Is this normal, & I just gotta get better used to it?
