I truly doubt that you'll find plastic grocery bags in the silt on the ocean floor that's more than 30 years old, sans. Or chemical waste older than 400 years, or nuclear waste, either, for that matter, that's older than 65 years or so.

The stuff we dig up & use was not designed to be dug up & used, as far as I can tell, esp in the ways we are using it.
