I have been really annoyed by the way people have been listing the instruments they play. Many claim to be so talented that they master any instrument there is from harp to bagpipes. This has not helped me at all with my search for a DRUMMER or a KEYBOARD player. I wish they would change the profile section to where you can list the instruments played and next to it the level of proficiency on this particular instrument. This would make everyone's search a lot easier. And would eliminate these "multi talented" musicians' claims. [/list]

This has been hashed and re-hashed dude. The mothership told me they would take it into consideration the next time they refine the whole system. IE dont hold your breath.

maybe I'll spend the $ next time they "refine" the whole sight; but they shouldn't hold their breath!

Are you related to Kramerguy?

This has been one of his favorite rants for awhile, there.

I quite agree, though.

heh. I'm thinking of cancelling my membership simply because the contact member is the function I'm really paying for, and IMO, it's 90% ineffective because of the instrument played search criteria.

you are right, though. I was just bitching about it earlier today in the general forum, big lolz

Yeah, I was gonna list everything from alto sax to zyther when I joined up, but that woulda been a lie.

It'd be nice to have those abilities - hell, it'd be nice to have the time to DEVELOP those abilities.

Evidently, some ppl think they can fool all the ppl all the time.

I also like the ones who are looking for everything from alto sax to zyther, but I think that's a BM default thing, when ppl forget to post what instrument they're looking for.

Profiles are a personal thing, for sure, but if ya can't even express yourself well enough to tell us what you can do, or to ask for what you need, then why should I bother looking into it? I just move on to someone else's profile. You prolly can't express yourself very well musically, either.

I do the same thing when I see someone with no audio. 1st moment I see that, I click the page off. No sense even bothering to read what they have to say about themselves.

Maybe they should add a tiny lil pic or just the name of their preferred instrument to everyone's nic? Add a lil music note to show they have music posted. That would solve everyone's problems right off the bat.

I feel bad for those of us stuck with dial-up. Having to wait & wade through the chaff must get awfully frustrating. I'm glad I have a sat hook-up, but even it ain't all that fast, & yes, I get frustrated, too!

dial-up & sat-link is all I can get out here...no cable...no DSL

It's tough living in the sticks, but we're managing...heck, I've only had sat-link for the lil bit of time I've been on this site...dealt with d-u for far too long
