Yes Hunter. The imagry of which I spoke comes from outside the self.
(crazy sh*t, I know) Therefore in practice if one is not in a "no mind" state.
Then his imagry will be tainted (or colored if you prefer) by his past experience. (some have used the term paradigm) Every time you see liver and onions if you have tasted it before, your mind goes umm liver or oh yuck liver. In the mind of no mind as the Japs refer to it, you would not be prejudiced by prior experience. Just taste the liver. Does that make sense to you. It is a difficult concept. Look at the sound from the stand point of a newborn. What (if any) imagry would he "see"?
What is the sound of one hand clapping? 8)

Snatch the pebble from my hand, grasshopper, & it will be time for you to go.

Actually, Hunter, I think we DO all live in parallel universes, in a way. We each of us may reside in the same space at the same time, but we perceive that "reality" in different ways. There is nothing in the world that is universally liked or hated...not food stuffs, or colors, or sounds, or rhythms or even climates.

We each have different genetic memories, social/racial/cultural backgrounds, personal tastes, & then add in personal memories, which all add up to individual, unique points of view & thus our perception of any given stimulae is going to differ more often than it will be in agreement.

Looking at it like this, it's a wonder we can agree on anything at all, ever.

God is an amazing random programmer, isn't He?

Each of us who listened to your recording got something uniquely our own from it. My image was just as "right" for me as yours was for you. While I can understand how you came to yours, your vision wasn't the one that came to my mind even after I heard it from you. My own imagery is what worked for me.

That's why I always had such a hard time figuring out those random thought poems that have always bugged the living sh*t out of me. My brain don't work like anyone else's, & how dare you tell me that what I got out of something was "wrong" by any stretch of the imagination...LOL

Interesting experiment, to be sure!

Now I wanna try to find that "musical missing link" that will unify us all in our minds, even though I know it's impossible!

The music is similar in tone to the sample I put on my profile.
But the mixing and the scale used for the music is different.
This is a case where a memory spurred a connection here, rather than the sound of the music itself. Perhaps the music triggered the memory, but the memory came before the music I put up. So for Shredd6 my sample acted as more or less of a portal into a remote, dusty area of his mind.
Music used for time travel????
