Some key questions to ask prospects, if ANY of these are responded to in the negative you move on: 1) Have you got a place to rehearse and enough good equipment? 2) Do you have any songs WELL REHEARSED in your repertoire? 3) Do any of your current band members have any professional experience? 4) Do you have ANY original material? 5) If so do you plan to perform them on your gigs? 5) Do you have any places you know where we can gig soon after REHEARSING all material? 6) Do you want to get to the recording studio after rehearsing enough good material? 7) Is it possible to come up with one definite time each week that all band members can definitely be somewhere to REHEARSE? REMEMBER IF ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED NO YOU MOVE ON. If you get to your first rehearsal and people are drunk or high on something you LEAVE and move on. Later...

Wow, Bob! I don't know about you, but I HATE to repeat myself!

Good advice, though!

Those guys that contacted me through BM have already given me a song list (all covers), a goal for playing out live (Sept gig is set up), & a rehearsal schedule (Sun & Mon nites). They also told me I don't hafta bring my rig to practice cuz they have a Carvin amp already there. Cool, huh? I haven't even spoken to him on the phone yet!

I'm gonna call him today & set it up for Sun & see what's what with them. I have some high hopes though.

Got another call last nite from a jazz guy who I tried out for a band before, but he was too jazzy for what we wanted. Now he's started something up with another guitar player, & wants a rhythm section. I have 2 drummers ready to work.

Man, when it rains it pours, eh?

My wife said she'll see me next lifetime when I took my messages.

Not sure what to do about that.

Wish me luck!

Good luck, Phil.

I already said that they were important, Bob. Only difference is that if I don't like the music, I wouldn't go further. So, that's where I start. And again, at this point, I don't care bout experience.

Sorry about the repetitive posts. Every once in a while I'll hit the submit button and nothing happens. So I hit it again and nothing happens. So I hit it again and nothing happens. Then I get frustrated and go to another topic or log off Bandmix. Then to my surprise I find out that my reply was posted three times. Anyway I didn't mean to have the same reply posted a bunch of times. Damn computers...

No worries, Bob. It helps when you read stuff more than once, so no big deal :P
