Damn'it! I have been looking to start a all ladies Go-Go band with a Alternative/ Modern Rock sound and well it's been a serious challenge. I mean I know there are female musicians out there but it's like finding a needle in a hay stack...at least finding the right chick...i guess i know what men go thru when looking for a mate. Of course i'll keep up the hussle....but i have a passion that wont wait....i wont give up but this is discouraging a lil bit.

I'm not so keen on "all one sex" bands. Or for that matter setting age limits. It's descrimination to me. And places a constriction on the creative force of the universe. Hard enough to find musicians that fit together, period. You should be more open minded if your desire is to create music. If all you want is a "show" hire strippers and a DJ. But to each her own. Best o luck.

I have no idea why it's so difficult, any more than you do.

I don't know why women can't just stick to dance. That's why men make music, you know - to watch you women as you dance all sexy & stuff.

I think it's the hormones.

You can't just put all of that female energy into a single project without dangerously risking the fundamental fabric of the entire multiiverse.

Find a good man & make babies first, & THEN see if you still think an all-girl band is the best thing to build for yourself, your man, your children, & the community at large.

Good luck with your search. Try your local colleges & music stores. Ask the music teachers in your area.

I think it's kinda sexist of you to exclude my gender, but what the hell - you go, girl!

I would love to have an all-girl band but all I need is one girl to make that dream come true. In reality, I prefer having guys in my band. Guys are more willing to take risks. They're easy to work with and they make me feel like I am one of the guys. Plus, you never know when you might need the extra muscle. I am for the music, not the gender, not the age or the stature.

I think it's as stupid as me starting an all male band.
very few good female musicians... you'd have troubles just getting a good band together, but then to impose the artificial restraint of needing all members to be female limits you to a pretty small pool... and of that pool - there are even fewer that would be interested in limiting themselves to an all female band because (if they are any good) they probably don't care what gender the people they play with are and are more interested in the ability of those people to play.

Theres more discrimination in music than sex. Every band that flyes a genre flag effectively discriminates any musician outside those parameters.

not sure how yer proving me wrong based on the fact that they've put out a grand total of two albums -neither of which have exactly 'taken the world by storm' and they certainly haven't stood the test of time yet.



I've read the lyrics and it's some pretty crappy-4th-grade-contrived-cle'she -we wrote it just so we could be an all girl band stuff... that will be gone in a month... IMO

keep in mind I'm not against girl performers.... bif naked is one of my fav bands... so is concrete blonde... but their music transcends the temporary coolness and novelty of an "all girl band".

lemme help you out here...
TLC is an "all girl band" according to wiki... and I'd say they would meet the mark based on having quite a few extremely popular songs... yet they don't meet the mark cause who does all the instrumentation? None of them even play an instrument...
sm with spice girls, En Vogue, supremes, etc.

perhaps bananarama would qualify... I believe they do their own stuff.
that's about as close as I see anyone coming.
