I am confused by this. Can anyone help?

I would like to issue an article on my blog on this subject

why some bands have booking agents and why some bands depend on venue promoters.

And what do venue promoters actually do? I know they find the bands and actively promote the shows
but do some venues only work with their promoters to fill up the slots?

How about booking agents, do they work with the bands in respect to promoting the show? do they promote anything? do they only seek the gigs?

Whats the best way to deal with these ppl?

thx alot

With a 44, obviously, something like:

"I know what you're thinking, punk. You are thinking, 'Did he fire six shots or only five?' Well, to tell you the truth, I forgot myself in all this excitement... but being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky?... Well, do ya, punk?!"

Keith, Pulp Fiction or what? xD

Yea, I think having a booking agent who is dedicated in what they do is more helpful. Ofcourse, if you build a good rep in your area, the venues will be after you from time to time. But you can't really depend on that to get your gigs. You do the promotion along with the booking agent and promoters.
When you first start, you normally wouldn't have the luxury of adding the agent to your team roster. So, you promote yourself. You get out there in venues, festivals, etc.. talk to everyone.. no really, everyone!
Introduce your band, always be ready to bust out your tunes, and drop the cocky attitude ... even if you're THAT good.

Bon chance!
