Good Luck to you guys, it sure does look like fun!!!!
They charge $400 a night to start.
That's $200 a piece.
They're making more than we are.
And Howlin' sez,
Tim and Sharon are what you call "professional entertainers". Most of the rest of us sometimes aspire to be , but end up playing mostly for the fun of it.
After my blue collar job folded due to plant closure (after working there for 20 years), my wife and I put together a duo. (Keys, bass, programmed drums). That project made money. We learned about running a business, paying taxes, and sorta how to get along with each other. Sad to say, we didn't earn enough to run the business, the house, and health insurance. I have long since returned to having a cursed day job, but still find time to satisfy my playing out addiction. At lest I got a taste of being a "professional musicion" , for a while.
If I was to play exclusively today, it's safe to say that I would have to make at least $200 a gig (and be booked every night) to cover gas, tax, insurance, promo, etc.
Sounds like Tim and Sharon have a good thing going!
Jam on!
