Looks like a Paul to me?

Hey! That's MY guitar!!!!

My goodness! They not only nailed it, but they nailed it even faster than they did it on the record, I do believe.

There aren't enough exclamation points in the world to express how wowed I was & am by this band, if only for this tune. They make my skin peel. (Although I think the 4 hrs I spent on the creek without a shirt on last Sat might have helped.)

I did notice, though, that they never gave the bass player a break. Rat bastids! Elitists! Po' lil bass players never get a break! It's all about the singer, or the guitar player, or the keys, or the drummer, or the flute, or the whistler...but never the bass guy.

Bass players need love, too.

Um...in answer to your question, I think it might be a Hagstrom custom model. Shore is a purdy won, tew!

Wow thats a trip down memory lane.

I dont know what that guitar is, from the inlays I dont think its a Gibson. I really thought it sounded wimpy in the video, of course I know on those old TV shows they used to make the guys turn down and a lot of times it wrecked their tone.

Thanks for sharing that link.

It's a les paul, you can tell by the inlay on the headstock and the "moustache" style top of the headstock. Classic gibson.

I doubt that's a paul... look at the heel... it's angled... I've never seen a paul like that... look at the cutout... it's not as sharp as a paul, much closer to a hagstrom. I thought hagstrom right off the bat... but I can't see the insignia...
doesn't seem to have typical hagstrom headstock... or weird swede stop tail.

doesn't have the mustache either... no dimple in the middle.
tail piece reminds me of paul reed smith... simple one piece wrap around guy.
no idea.

thought I saw the dimple in the headstock. Hmm, will have to look it over again.

It's a 1971 modified Les Paul Personal. It was modified by Paul Hammer. He still owns and plays that guitar.

I doubt it's a Hagstrom. Although Hagstrom axes are excellent ones.
I'm leaning towards the Les Paul idea too.
They sound insane.. in a good way

above is a link to a photo of a 'les paul personal'...
has the angled heel... also has the 'les sharp' cutout...
but single coils and typical stop tailpiece...

if I had to bet money at this point I'd say it is probably a variation on this les paul personal model.
good call folks.

I,d put my money on what Mikey sez! 8)

Neanderpaul,
Don't fell bad, IrishAntony never heard of The Allman Brothers!( however, I must confess, I never heard of The Pogues before he mentioned then. I still find it hard to believe that you aren't familiar with one of the greatest singer, guitarist, songwriters, Richard Thompson.

Did ya ever hear of,
Howlin'J?
