This guy is a joke anyway.

Here is his website:

http://www.aceentertainmentwv.com/

Laughable.

It uses BandMix as it's "artist page" for hearing music samples.

Unprofessional and lame.

So Phil, all your attacks, including calling people "stupid" for expressing their opinions, were for naught.

Amazingly, NONE of you researched this wannabe.

Secondly, all Sans really said in his first response was...

"Peace doesn't exist"

That's all he said.

Which then drew vicious and personal attacks upon him, which...

TA-DA!!!!

Only served to PROVE his point.

Who's the idiot again?

LMAO!

Guess who's eating popcorn again?
Remember how you and Irmy used to argue over politics, Craig?

I figure those who are interested can just contact the thread-starter directly.
Actually, all of you WV guys should contact him and check into more, regardless if it pays or not.
If you bring stuff for people to buy, chances are you'll be able to recoup gas and food money.
If y'all coordinated between ya, you could probably split lodging costs.
(One of the regulars here lives in the charleston area.)

If you see something that you're interested in and you contact the poster directly, whatever gets typed in the thread after that is irrelevant.
Meaning... I doubt any strong opinion or goobery posted in a thread is going to cost anyone a gig.

Amusing though. (Or madening, depending on your perspective.)

Just because my beliefs are different from yours Craig, that doesn't make me a hypocrite. Kindly cut it out.

No,

The hypocrisy would come, where you would admire a band who refused to play for the Republican National Convention because of their beliefs, and yet you chide someone on a music forum, who simply expressed a dissenting point of view, based on his own beliefs, because it could potentially ruin some gigs. In other words, business first.

Yet you would not likely feel the same in all circumstances. Because you support these types of rallies, you easily criticize someone who doesn't as "stupid".

But what if some music group that professed to be against racism, took a high paying gig at an Aryan Nation rally? You would look down on them for it.

In other words, your own politics are slipping in here, without you realizing it, and you are criticizing and even insulting, others, for expressing those beliefs, when in another circumstance, you would do the same.

To hold one standard for others and a different one for yourself, is hypocrisy.

It amazes me that a simple request for people to play a concert has turned into this. Look at my website, I never claimed to be huge. I did the national scene and retired from it. I retired but got bored, so I started working as a DJ/MC for some part time fun, working with local musicians making music. It turned into a full time job again, and here I go again. I do not want to go national again, I had my fill of that scene. I have a low budget indy label that is producing three signed acts and promoting another four acts as well. I am looking to put together a music festival. I specifically stated that more information was available by phone. I called it a peace rally. I explained in a subsequent post what i meant by that. I was called a moron for suggesting that someone could find peace in their life. I never even mentioned the war. Believe of me what you will, there are some in this forum that I will hopefully get the opportunity to work with in the future, there are some that I would now go out of my way to hinder the progress of as well, and believe what you want, I do have the connections to do so. I am in a position in my life that I can choose for myself who is worthy of my time investment, and those who are deemed worthy will reap the rewards. Those who doubt me, I don't need you, not at all. However, you need someone like me. You go on thinking you're doing great with your little five hundred dollar gigs in your little hometowns, enjoy it. I work on a larger scale. Consider this; I had one artist appear at a car show in Charleston, sing 3 songs to a crowd of 200. Not much of an appearance right? 50 cds were sold in the hour he was there. Wow, 50 cds! You've probably averaged sales of way more than 50 an hour right? Right? Oh, you haven't? Sorry to hear that. No, I don't have any gold record artists on my label right now, but I can tell you this...the money an artist would make in 500,000 copies on a national label (thats a gold record for those of you who don't know) an artist on my label will make that same money in just 10,000 copies. Why? LESS OVERHEAD. I don't waste money on fancy websites and stupid useless fluff that means sh*t to the music. But, I'm just a joke. Later.

Laughable.

This coming from a guy who's band uses myspace as their band website? My goodness. Anyway, I have now listened to your music "Craig Maxim" and from a professional standpoint, I must say, its not bad. The music itself is well written, however, it is just like a million other bands out there with the same southern rock style. I didn't hear anything that stood out above the rest. Anyone who would like to hear it for themselves can check out the link he includes on every post. I didn't hear anything special, do you?

50 x $10 = $500

I happen to like Craig and his music. September is one of my favorite songs. I'm a Southern Mischief fan.

I actually played a peace "festival" here in the Vegas desert. It was a lot of fun. There was a lot of hippies (young and old), and a LOT of mushrooms and weed. Oddly, everyone liked my morbid acoustic stuff.

Later, I joined in on the biggest weedfest I'd ever been a part of , and played a djembe in a 25-man drum circle (I'm actually pretty good with hand-drums). There were naked chicks dancing around with these ropes with balls of fire on the ends of them. Just a ton of people drinking, smoking, shroomin', getting naked. It was a good time.
A lot of hibachi's too. I got chastized by a Vegan for cooking a steak. apparently I should have been BBQing Bean sprouts.

But if they held it again today, I'd go in a heartbeat. Nobody got paid. It was just a FAT party. It was like a small Burning Man. F**ked 2 chicks in the back of my truck that night.. Never saw them again.

I am primarily defending San's right to his point of view, and his ability to express it. Maybe I went a little overboard, but he was being attacked unnecessarily.

The symbolism of a cute flower chick sticking a daisy in the barrel of a machine gun is beautiful in a way, but impractical.

Most military people believe that war protests during the Vietnam war, cost American lives, and provided comfort and aid to the enemy. I think they're right, although there were MANY failures during Vietnam by MANY administrations.

If I was mistaken that this was not necessarily a war protest rally, then forgive my error, although the difference between the two could be quite nominal.

I support the cause of trying to establish peace, although Sans, looking through the lens of history, is quite correct. There has never been peace. That doesn't mean the world could not become "more" peaceful with some effort.

That said, I think that rather than protest rallies or peace rallies, the more profound programs where, for example, Muslim students and Jewish students, work together on Summer charity projects, and begin to understand one another more fully through shared experiences, while helping those in need, those are the kinds of things that achieve direct, and positive results, and if emulated and expanded, have the best chance of accomplishing a more peaceful world.
