I've never been a huge fan of Zeppelin. My favorite members were Plant & Bonham. Jimmy Page hasn't really done a whole lot since Zeppelin ended. He's a fine guitar player but I agree he's probably overrated. Something was mentioned about Jerry Garcia. Certainly Garcia was not the greatest guitar player. The genius of the Dead was the entire experience of their live performances. The Dead were cultural icons. Zeppelin also was an iconic band. There have been many bands with much greater technical skills than either the Dead or Zeppelin, but there have been very few bands with as great an influence on rock culture. Certainly the impact of an entire band is much greater than the impact of its individual members. Later...
