Hey Paul, did you get the link for "No Matter What"? I got the wav for "Nothing But Wrong", sounds great. Did you have that mastered? It's a lot louder.

Man you have great vox! All I can say is sing it like you mean it. I use muscle to sing. You know, diaphragm. Just flex your range to it's max, yet work within your range.

Sorry man it didn't work. You have to save the file as a wav on your computer. Believe it or not I didn't master it. I sang the vox in my friends studio and just recorded them raw. Then I opened them with audacity and edited and saved it as a wave.

You did it right Jimmy. Good job. I hate to be picky but can I get it w/o the lead guitar doing the lead vocal? please oh please.

I'm sorry to keep bothering you, but your vocals seem more dynamic to me than mine. I may just be my own worst critic, but how are you getting that wide ass sound?

No need to apologize for complimenting me buddy! :D I appreciate it big time! I too am my own worst critic. That's how I think we get good. I did double track the lead vocal and then on this one instead of singing a harmony I sang an octave below the lead vocal. That fattens it up. I also believe some people just sound like a lead singer. For instance the guys in Phish sound like great musicians, but they don't sound like lead singers. While Aerosmith's Steven Tyler just has "that thing". In my opinion a good singer has a combination of a good ear, strength, tone, and control. The only thing I can suggest is sing with a little more force. Like in the car sing along with who you like and try to nail it. Sing the crap out of it. When I have done that it's been trying to keep up with Robert Plant. Most of his high stuff I can almost nail, but it sounds a little weak. There are only a few songs of his that I would try in public. But as you try to stretch your range the part that you can hit will get stronger. I'm looking forward to what you and Shredd6 come up with!

Thank you. That was quite insightful. I'm a baritone/tenor 2, so stretching the range is a great suggestion. I've noticed that when I push my voice up to where I get used to hitting high notes in my chest voice, I can't sing with a rich deep tone anymore. What's causing this? Have you ever had the same problem?

No I don't really know what to say there. I've never had any lessons. So I don't think I'm any good at giving advice. Most of what I have came from singing since birth in an A Capella church where everybody sings. That handed me the 4 part harmony thing. The rest came from mimicking singers I liked from childhood up. Elvis was my first favorite singer. "Isn't she lovely" by Stevie Wonder was my first favorite song I can remember. I can remember being 10 or so and listening to the "urban" am radio station and making stuff up and thinking "man that sounds good enough to be on the radio".
You have a great foundation. You are a good singer now. Just sing all the time. That's really the way to get good at anything. Rock on!!

I've been told by a few people that I might just end up in a band for my vocals and nothing else.

That's a compliment to most people. I know you sing well enough to be a front man. I just always want to play something.

Same here.
For some reason, I just don't feel comfortable without a guitar.

It's a crutch to a coupla people, I know. They'd say "I feel weird" or "what do I do with my hands?" haha [no comment]
In my case, I can't play and sing at the same time.. well, I can, but it's not that great overall :P
I like your vocals, Hunter, but I like your guitar work more.
