Thks KIDD ... LOL .. I wrote & recorded that stuff around 1996. I played all the parts (all MIDI) execpt the drums (friend had an electronic set). I MIDI'd all the parts into a highend ensoniq sound card and recorded it with cakewalk. I then recorded it out to tape and just recorded it digital a couple of months ago ... that's they the sound quailty isn't that great.

Yes .. I have quite a few bands I play in and I also get picked up by bands for a one nighter.

I moving to Victoria on the island at the end of the month so I'll be looking for new player to get together with..

Back in high school (mid 60's) one of my more wealthy classmates had a B3 . Kinda upstaged my shiny new Farfisa Combo Compact. He was a good dude, however, and when his band played at the school dances , he would usually call me up to play a few tunes. I instantly fell in love with the great wooden beast, but, never seemed to be able to conjure up the bread to score one.

I heard a few Farfisas played through leslies (most notably Al Kooper in the Blues Project) and they sounded pretty good. I get by with my Yamaha SY55 synth these days. Sounds great and fits in a guitar case!(don't have to worry about oilin' the tone motors either, nor the finish!)

Anyways, its good to see an ol' boy still grindin' the keys drawlin' the bars, and swirlling the air, so ROCK ON!

Howlin ... I grew up with that 1958 B3, bin in the family since new, although I wouldn’t consider our family rich. I started playing in bands when I was around 12 yrs old and the band would practice at our house in the dining room where the B3 was. Well after a year of noise my parents had had enough and the drummer said that we could move into his parents garage for practicing. My parents reluctantly agreed to move the B3 over there … well to make a long story short it never returned home again. Just before our first gig I chopped the legs off of it and install 4 big handles on it so 4 people could carry it (400lbs). I never told my mom what I did to her beloved B3 until years latter when she bought another Hammond.

Once you’ve play a real B3 … it hard to play a B3 clone / synth. The sound isn’t quite right if you know what I mean. Hammond has finally come out with an electronic version on the B3, the XK3 pro system, on this version I can tell the differece, with upper and lower manuals and petals if you want. The upper and lower manuals split and weigh 40 lbs ea. and has a folding stand … I love it and I came finally pack all my keys with out help.
