People don't respond for several reasons.
1 you didn't post music
2 they didn't like your music
3 they saw you being a wanker here or elsewhere
4 they forgot they signed up

I've been contacted by several members and have replied with no problems. This site is not a rip off. It's a great place to get your music critiqued. It's great for finding local like minded artists. It's been a fun place for me just to hang out.

Well let's see. Where to start with you nancy... as in boy. If you don't want to hang out leave. I'm from the south so I'm not a yank, but I'm sure in your limited experience you can't understand that. I wasn't patronizing you I was offering a possible explanation. I'm posting on the English forum because we can still hear and share music (this is called the internet after all). And I did have something better to do. Tonight I produced, sat in on bass for a studio session, finished writing a song for somebody who needed help, started the recording process for the lead vox for a band a met HERE, then I came home and had to smack you down verbally while listening to your watered down, bland, fake clavi myspace music. Did you play any of your instruments? I hope so cause your vox are wispy. Ok I'll give your Blue roses track a 5, and on second listen I'll give one way mirror girl a 5 also. Those are the better of the 4. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... =221657951
And what's with the shirt? Are you headed to stonehenge? And I thought I was a freak?

Oh my man, Calm yourself Neanderpaul, after all what do you expect, considering his posts. I decided to ignore his assnine comments the first time I saw him. Anyone with any level of smarts if they did not like the BandMix service would just stay off of it. Not hang around just to run it down. Lots of good contacts with our English brothers and sisters. Just not this one. :( On the bright side Paul, we put together another original last night with lyrics from our drummer. We also got a real good start on arrangements for two more covers. Our Bass was out due to a death in his family, :( But we still had a productive rehersal session.

Don't blame the site for the people who don't want to pay and are too rude to respond.

Many other pay sites won't even let you receive or respond unless you pay, so BMIX already has more 'free' services than most.

While I've had the same amount of success (Think I've sent out in the area of 35 contacts and have had maybe 4 or 5 responses), and none have worked out so far, I'm not seeing much different statistics going to any other sites, other than most of the other sites have even LESS people to contact.

I do post on craigslist (may be US only?) and other 'classified ad' sites, and between them all, I have been able to schedule auditions for nearly all of our practices.

Now.. 4 out of 5 auditions, the people never call or show up for...

but thats also not bandmix's fault.

For $10 a month, the information I get on these forums, from the experienced members alone is worth it.

Such a shame several dont reply to emails sent, I've sent several out in the last 12 months and only a few have replies. Still not formed this band yet tho...

Anyone in Portsmouth or S.E Hants want to put something together? I do Rhythm and some backing vocals. My profile on here is listed as MickB. I have function sized room available for practice for free in City Centre, cheap beer too.

Keep on rockin'
Mick.

I sent out 5 or so emails the other week and haven't heard from all but one guy! One dude contacted me before I subscribed and I was able to respond to him... generally this looks like a great site compared to what I know of in Australia.

LOL and to think I thought I was the only hot head.

Good to see others pissing away like it might be the last time.

It all breaks down to what you get out of this. If you want to bail, bail. You wouldn't be the first person to run crying from the forum and you won't be the last.

I am not a paid member and I have had maybe a dozen approaches from this site from bands looking for a singer. I have always replied even if their stuffs not really somthing I want to be a part of. Yeah people always go through spells in their lives when due to commitments its hard to find time to get together and jam, but if music is your passion as it is mine , I dont understand how anyone would not want to respond to an email even if they arent interested . Or why they would put in the time to talk to someone in great length with a view to jamming and then be "too busy " suddenly. Maybe Im just not obnoxious enough lol

Stay safe
