Well, I love my new keyboard/synthesizer/computer! But no one seems to know how to operate it for recording mode! (including the people in Clearwater who sold it to me!) :(
So, I've already paid two guys to come over here and try to read the manual, watch the video, and figure it out. I ended up paying both guys even thought neither one of them could figure it out. More than anything I need to find someone with above average I.Q. who is computer saavy, good at reading difficult manuals, and easy to explain things to me! Anyone in or near Gainesville who wants to make a little $$$$$ and help me out? Cha Cha Angelina

get me copies of the manual and I can show you or better yet I could go to the music store and tell ya...next time I go...on my workstation there is a Disk/card button and a song memory button that lets me get to the record. My other workstations just have the Record button.

Chemical~
The guy who was here yesterday actually made things worse! For example, when you press "C" in the base and have it set for a polka beat, it romps between C and G. After this guy fiddled with my Ketron, we would press that option and only get a repeating "C" rather than a romp between the C and G in the baseline. SO, we called Clearwater and "Pat" tried to walk us through it by phone and we still couldn't get it to play the C/G romp. I can't believe these guys in Clearwater sell a piece of equipment that they don't even know how to operate! And I didn't even mention that the store owner's side kick actually gave me half a manuel--they printed out every other page of the manual, which is what the first guy I paid to come over here discovered. Now, the even pages are on their way, or so he claims. Very frustrating1 Very frustrating!q Augh! cha cha cha cha cha
So, anyway, I need to be walked through it, really. And you would need to have this keyboard right in front of you. Really. I now have a call into the Gainesville Guitar Academy (they also give keyboard lessons) They called me back and said they think they have someone for the job. Hopefully so! Hopefully so! cha cha cha cha cha (I need to go cha cha away my frustration!!) :D

I don't know if this would help but when I lived in G,Ville and recorded at Mirror Image Studio, the co-engineer of our cd was Ronny Cates, former bass player of the renowned christain rock band,Petra. If he is still employed at Mirror Image he may be able to help or find someone in his circle that would know of your needs.

Hey, Jon--
I'm going to Google Ronny Cates and Petra after I write you this thank you note. Guess what--Mirror Image, I just found out when I called them--and got a recorded message--is closing its doors FOREVER starting on October 31. They said "thank you for twenty years of business." Wo!

Thats quite a surprise as Tom Petty did one of his recordings there when known as Mudcrutch. My band,Southern Cross recorded there in 1997 which is my only cd but good enough to get my break with Jackson Deerfield and the High Maintenance Band.He will be show casing for Universal Records in January 2007 for a record deal.Petra was around for 20 plus years and they had an awesome keyboardist.Ronny was no slouch on the bass and quite the showman. That was another pleasant surprise when he moved to G,Ville after retiring from the group. His wife is from the area.I still have my drum shirt to this day that I had him autograph for me while taping.Anyway, got a little long winded.

Wish you the best,
Jon

Of the many choices on a Google Search, one is called "What ever happened to Ronny Cates?" Apparently, he left Petra some time ago. I see many other names associated with Petra. Perhaps one of them is in the phone book.

Wow, I would think if they had the instrument they would at least know how to use it!

Take a digital pic of your keyboard...e-mail it and Ill see if I can't get it. I will call you if something pops out at me. I am sure there are menus you need to go through on the display ...like mine.... but maybe I could point you in the right direction :) a plus would be that they give you an assistance # like the keyboards I got. If I have a problem I call the company for free. Or even try their website.

Anyways look to see if you can bring up the F2 retrigger and mode selections. You will see 4 chord bars in the menu...I would think upon selecting each one by F3 F4 and F5 that it would bring up the key changes. Now you only want the two so it would just be F3 and F4. Now the values I would think would be like the Modulation which can vary by pitch shifting. Now this is where I would think the mOde function would come in...look for the cursor +/- buttons and modify by F10 buttons for each individual chord change...two back out just hit LEFT control and F5 to escape.

Now on my keyboard this is part of the tone mod as well as all the diff modes such as Attack...sustain...resonance...etc. It looks alot like my Old Korg keyboard display, that ketron. BTW... did you just want to do a key split? with the chords?

Funny that you are in Indiana! There is one expert in the country on this Ketron and he is also in Indiana. Maybe I'll just go to Indiana one of these days! (Your message lost me.)
Also, I'm going to call the store later on today and see if Pat has a day off and he and I can try to figure it out together. I'll even pay him. I think what I really need is a full-time boyfriend/business partner/on-stage partner/video editor/sexy man/funny guy/etc. etc. etc.
:D Too bad he doesn't exist!!!!!!!!!!! cha cha cha

It should be in the rest of your manual under retrigger and mode in the table of contents ...if you have the XD9 adobe reader manual or PDF.

I'm dead sexy! Too bad my wife doesnt do what you do! It would be a perfect pairing much as you described

Yeah, well, I'm still dealing with a recovering alcoholic boyfriend for two long years. He says he wants to do the things that my ex-husband enjoyed doing for ten years. But yesterday was a typical day with him. He drew two pages of art, asked me for $30 to buy some underwear at Wel*Mart and then I didn't see him for the rest of the day because I work three jobs and have class on Wednesday nights. He thinks I should be giving him MORE money. I'm really getting fed up with this situation. But like I said, there's not a lot of song and dance guys out there. :(

How come this site only has married men on it?
And how did you get the name "Chemical Residue" anyway?

well its like the groups out there that do genre bending electronica and dance music...most of them go by Chemical Brothers...the Crystal Method....the Warp bros.....propeller heads......I figure I am what's left after all the cool names are taken and reacting in a manner that there just isnt much room for any other other names to fit. So like when the chemical reaction happens and that is that , well, I am the residue left after... I am the "Chemical Residue". Yes that was Cheesy and I am Very bad at analogies. HEHE

Anyways to the 2 years recovering...if you keep doing stuff for him...especially for that long. He isnt really going to get anywhere. Sometimes you have to pull the plug on the machine and let him kickstart his own natural breathing. And you shouldn't feel bad for doing it. He should feel bad for puting you through the 2 years. I am sure he thinks he's fragile but everyone has inner-strength. You are his support and he should be thankful he even has you. But when it comes time the support structure wears and when no-one is there to maintain it...it eventually breaks... but you have a choice to wait longer ...or get out. I've kicked many habits myself a lot faster b/c I took control. It should be his attitude as well.
