Opinions welcome!
We Are Fishermen, a tune from my Tavern musical comedy stageplay sequel. It's got a bit of a panto section in the middle to be played out by the actors. I was going for something almost metal...? I'm not much of a metal writer/player.

On stage, there would be 3 fishermen and the tavernkeeper singing so the lyrics may not make sense at times. Don't worry about the mix, I don't. It's just a rough demo for the cast.

p.s. still looking for a NH keyboard player...;>)

I am laughing my lil butt off at this, man!

Very creative..."even in the bathtub"

Fisherman bob, here's your floor show!

The funniest part is that I was expecting a Christian rock song, going by the title...duh!

It could be shorter, but I like it. Where the heck would you play it?

"Santa Lucia Claws" has too much effect on the vox for me to understand them through the verses. Nice production otherwise, though.

As I mentioned :>) it's for a sequel to my musical comedy stageplay...;>)

I probably did put too much reverb on Santa... I was trying for a little old time Elvis sound there...

Here's another FISH song called 'Fish'... it's also in the video with the singing wall mounted stuffed fish.

p.s. I'd never play it or anything else as I'm on SSD with a very bad back so my gigging days are long over. So next time you guys play out or even jam with others, take a moment and think of me and rock on just a little bit harder for the old guy and his heating pad!

p.s. part 2 Santa lyrics
Verse 1
Well I’ll tell you a story from a long time ago
About three fishermen like you in a boat
They were fishing for lobster at the end of the day
From the depths of the sea, they hauled in a sleigh
It was pulled by crabs of the horse shoe kind
A lobster was driving it blew their minds

Verse 2
He was big and red with claws out to here
Black boots red coat and a seaweed beard
He looked real mad sitting in his sleigh
He brushed off his coat and he looked their way
He said hey boys what you trying to do
I’m really in a hurry I got lots to do

Verse 3
Well they stared in wonder for a minute or two
At the big red lobster in black leather boots
They stared at the bag filled with toys and games
They stared at the crabs tied to his sleigh
The one in the lead had a shiny red nose
The lobster cleared his throat and said I gotta go

Chorus
It was Santa Lucia Claws, the greatest lobster of them all
He’ll bring you fishing lures and toys and games, but not if you don’t behave

Verse 4
Well he gave a little sigh then he stood up in the sleigh
With a flick of his claw he picked up the reins
At his horse shoe crabs he shouted real loud
Then his sleigh rose up and went into the clouds
The fishermen heard as he flew out of sight
To all a Merry Christmas to all a good night

Chorus
When he lands on your roof he never falls
He never gets stuck in the chimney at all
You dream of what he’ll bring you on Christmas day
If you leave him milk and cookies you’ll hear him say

Verse 5
Well they looked at one another with knowing grins
They hoisted up the sheets and they sailed back in
They pulled up to the docks they looked all around
There was no one there to tell what they had found
One fisherman was heard as he walked away
I hear he spends his summers in Montego Bay

Well, as long as there's no splinters... I say GO FOR IT!
I just got back from the surgeon appointment , went there in hopes of having a surgical disk fusion scheduled but I had a really bad night with thoracic disk problems (ongoing for the past 20 years) crushing my chest and not being able to breath until multiple doses of painkillers kicked in.

my spine is so farged up he doesn't really know where to start cutting and can't guarantee fusions would fix the problem(s) and not cause more pain. he could fuse one section and I wouldn't find out until some time afterwards if it was the right one.

So he sheduled me for another MRI of the thoracic area in question which is tomorrow morning to compare it with the region on the 2 hour full spine MRI I had last November to see if he can determine any new herniated area impinging on the spinal column.

More waiting...

but the good news is there may be a guitarist coming over next weekend and possibly a keyboard player too who writes originals.

Well, I gotta go spread 400 pounds of dirt, plant grass seed and start trying to finish rebuilding my back porch. I am soooo far behind on my yardwork this year, but a smaller porch means less snow in the years to come that I don't have to re-shovel off the porch after i shoveled it off the roof! It gets real hard once it hits the porch and is a right pain in my arse!

And here's where it gets REALLY sad...
I just started fooling around with a whammy bar on my son's Ibanez strat copy. Yes, that's right. I'm 46, been playing guitar for almost 30 years and never touched a whammy bar before... have pity on an old man!
besides, I was never a lead player so I never needed one. Now If I can just get this Ibanez whammy (it says so on the plate) to stay in tune once it's pulled down. The strange thing is the strings go UP in pitch instead of down! Maybe having Ernie Ball super slinky 9's has something to do with it? Plus the damn guitar is heavy compared to my Ibanez semi-hollow artcore, it kills my back just to strap it on. I gotta sit and play it.

Sucks getting old man!
Play some Robin Trower, Pat Travers, Hughes n' Thrall, Lynch Mob, Thin Lizzy & Frank Marino for me!
Peace out ya'll,
-Jim

Jim, put a graphite nut on that axe. It'll probably help keep it in tune. Failing that, have someone put a locking nut on it to solve the prob's of the detuned whammyness.

I'm hoping it may be sooner now that it looks like we found a fine guitarist who seems genuinely interested in getting some good music together. FINALLY. Later...
