O.K. now I'm really jealous man. Rick's like the first Jeremy McGrath to the sport, even his old supercross days. He's like any rider's idol if they know anything about racing at all. I still remember the old days of him and David Bailey fighting it out on the track. Good old memories... :D Your kid and his buddy have some pretty good "low fly" technique bro. When you whip the bike out a little bit just after take off, it amplifies towards and after the apex to keep you probably about 5 feet lower than someone that would've hit it straight up. As you know, the closer to the ground you stay, the faster you are.

On another note...I just got my new Marshall (can't believe that I'm saying that) JVM 410 head and cab set up. Gettin ready for a long night figuring this thing out. There's so many possibilities to what the damn thing can do that it's making my head spin. Coolest part is that it has two channels that are the same so you can scoop the mids on the one, then add them to the other, and just switch between them with the pedal control for leads or rythym. No extra EQ needed. Plus it can switch between 4 different sounds and setups all in one song by just setting up the channels and then choosing that channel on the footswitch. Never thought I'd join the ranks of Marshall dudes, but this one made me have to...Even the used Mesa Triple Rec that they had couldn't hold a candle to this thing as far as versatility or just plain good tone. It had more gain, but I don't need that much and it had to be louder to have good tone where this one sounds the same whether it's quiet or screaming. Anyhow I hope to do something tonight and put it up tomorrow if I can deal with the lack of sleep in the morning. Yeah I'm gettin older too bro!

Congrats on getting a JVM! I didn't have my hopes up before sitting with that amp since I'm not a huge Marshall fan. The only Marshall's I like are the Bluesbreaker, Jubilee, and now the JVM. I was really surprised by the JVM. I cranked it for a while and played it at lower levels. I couldn't believe that it actually sounds good at low levels as well, didn't expect that. There's a lot of gain on tap. I found that it started to get muddy with the gain past 12 o'clock, but even that's more than enough. If not, stick an OD in front of it for better results. The cleans weren't all that bad either. It's about time Marshall released something worthwhile. Very nice amp, but I still say it's overpriced. Good luck with the amp!

Guitarist Available: Thanks for the response man. I just put up some more stuff that I did on that setup, but the frequency response is hell on computer speakers without mastering which I'm not about to do for ideas. I only could get the gain to about 10:30 before I thought it was way too much even with my Caparison and passive pickups. Every little movement of any dial makes a different overall sound. I even keep the Ambience and Presence controls at about 10:30 as well. This thing has soooo much balls on tap that I really can't believe that it's a Marshall! Other than putting an OD up front like you mentioned to try to calm it down and open it up a bit to a warmer sound, I really don't think that this monster needs anything more than that. Just a matter of playing with it for a while to dial it in. Anyone that would dime the gain on channel 3 or 4 needs a labotomy!
