Best of luck! Go very prepared. You will get more for your $. I find it best to work on no more than 3 songs in a session. Are you playing with a drummer?

Going to a professional studio with an experienced recording engineer was one of the best experiences in my musical life. Going in super prepared is crucial, also if you're working with a real pro engineer who knows ahead of time what YOU want to sound like is super important. 1st time I went into a studio, I was so nervous! I worried about my hands sweating, & so I used deodorant on them for a week prior to going (but not on the day I recorded!), so they wouldn't sweat & slip all over the place.

Ppl talk about stage fright! That was nothing compared to the anxiety I felt about putting it all down on tape for posterity.

I stopped smoking for a day before the session, worked my butt off singing & playing the material in preparation all the way up to the day before I recorded. Then I took a day off so I didn't jinx it.

It might seem silly to all you guys, but I was a wreck.

I noticed in the 1st few takes that my voice quavered. My hands felt shaky & incompetent. After awhile, though, I got my head on straight again & it all worked out.

I still get a bit anxious when I know it's coming up, but I don't get as nervous as I used to. I do prepare like mad, though, to make sure I can do it in one or two takes.

All I can say is practice your material till you can play it backwards, forwards or sideways. Loosen up and have fun.
