does anyone know how i can message someone? it says i have to upgrade, but i really dont have the cash to do that... i know 10 dollars isnt much, but im putting everything i have into college right now, and i wont be able to upgrade until i can get some gig money or something, and it wont let me message some of the people in my area that are looking for a band... anyone have any tips?

Yea, it really sucks the way it is.. try to find the ones that have a myspace, email address, or even a phone number. You gotta pay if you wanna contact them directly.

well you gotta figure, a service that puts musicians in contact with each other and offers searching features, forums, etc.. is worth the price of a couple of pairs of drumsticks, no?

If someone can't afford a 3-pack of guitar strings, then I really wouldn't want them to be in our band. Last night's show I beat up 2 pairs of strings, and broke a cable. It's not expensive to play in a band, but you need to figure extra gas, wear and tear, etc. is going to cost you.

I mean no offense by this, just trying to add the other perspective-

I've meet quite a few people through band mix. Had a paid profile now have free because I'm not really looking for anyone. It's the best site at what it does. Great forums and decent respectful people unlike some sites. MS. I'm sure you want to get paid for your gigs well Ditto for band mix.
And no I'm not giving you a free CD.

I hope to start making money from my music endevers soon so I don't have a problem with bandmix asking for a little money.

Ten bucks. Buy one month. Contact everyone then stop paid subscription.

This is a great site and I think of quite a few of the people on this web site as friends. Sans, Irmy, and quite a few others.
