The band is taking it's next step and going into the studio to record our first cd. We've booked our slot next month with a great recording studio and producer. No more recording with cheap gear in the basement. We have new songs written and ready to record. We are headed in a direction that might even please our not so-so fans on this site. I usually don't post my bands songs on this site but I added a rough recording of one of the new songs that is going to be released on my profile without the vocals (by request) in case you care to listen. It may sound a bit odd without the vocals but Kyle and Joey have some killer vocals ready for this one. "Dressed To Kill New Song" Thanks!

I'm posting listening to the intro still bro!!!

Awesome!!!!

I'll buy the CD. Even with screaming brother! ;-)

Do good work in the studio. Go prepared and rested. Probably most of you have been in a professional studio before, but if you need it, I can provide some good links, for preparation articles, how to get prepared for your best experience possible, and not wasting money, etc... there are many things that can be done, to save time, and be ready for getting the best sound possible. Don't let your singer be fooled, about lemon and honey, etc... NOTHING BUT WATER. Room temperature water, and LOTS of it, hours before the studio, will hydrate his vocal chords properly. Don't let him ruin his voice through the night either, with hard-core gig or practices, or sleeping in a dry room, or open window, etc...

Sounds like it will be badass!

The new song is really good Mike, man that pause, I bout fell out of my chair thinking what the hell, Like my computer messed up or something. Then bang right back into the tune :D I dont know why but when I see guys like you and Craig that have paid the dues, start to really get somewhere it gives me hope for Rock Music as a whole.
Soon as your CD is out I want to buy one. Great Job.

Wow Mike! The tones remind me of some floyd with a mix of rush at a much faster tempo. The song itself morphs so often, I don’t see it ever getting old. Honestly so far, depending on the vocals come out, I have to say this is probably within the top 3 of any personal music I have ever heard off the web. Really excellent work! I don’t see any reason not to expect to hear this on the radio in a few months. :)

Good job Mike. Just checked out some of your stuff. Although it's not my style, you're one hell of a blues player bro and remind me of a local band around here called Jake's Blues. You got some major blues skill going on. I as well won't post any of my main ideas, but I'm going to put up some newer "ideas" that people can check out. Keep it up and I'll definetly buy the CD as well to support you dudes. Keep it up and never lose faith in what "the big guy in the sky" wants you to do brother. I think you already got it though man... :D

Mike...um...wow!

Hey, what would ya charge to record a lead on one of my songs? Seriously.

I'm impressed, to say the least. Great stuff...love the changes & the musicianship. I only hope your vocalist is 1/2 as good as you. Can't wait to hear the final.

( & yes, I'm serious...would you record on one of my tunes? This site may come in handy, afterall!)

Sick 'em Mike!!!!

Man, I can't wait to hear it. You guys really have something good going, and it's good to see you guys tackle it head on. There's a lot of talent in your band. I'm sure it's gonna kick major ass!

Craig is 100% right about the singer prep stuff. I found out the hard way. During Burn, my voice started to go. The engineer was trying to have me eat Starburst, drink honey, all that stuff. But my vocal coach at the time said just what Crag said. Drink a lot of water, and don't sing a damn thing for 2 days before recording. (of course that was after the fact, and advice for the next venture.)

Oh yea.. And for guitar players. No sex for a month before recording.

On another note Mike. Make sure you re-tube your preamp and check the bias of your power tubes with an amp tech before you go into the studio. Also make sure your guitars are intonated well. Your Engineer will love you for it.

If you need some advice on some tubes for the preamp, let me know. Groove tubes don't cut it. I do have a surplus of some NOS tubes if you don't want to go the ebay rout. Some RCA and Mullard tubes would kill in that marshall. Just send me a message privately if you need some ok.

Sorry for the late reply guys. We had a show last night and I like to sleep in late. Thanks for all the comments and the tips for going into the studio. You know I appreciate them. We booked the studio for 7-12 hour days. They have accommodations with a kitchen so we will be living there for the week. They also have equipment for our use such as drums, amps keyboards etc.

philbymon, I would be happy to record some lead for you and I wouldn't think about charging a friend for something I like to do. We can talk more after this hectic weekend if that's ok.

Shredd, Thanks! I'll email you about the tubes.

Because of the limited amount of space for uploads here I took down the complete new song and cut it down in size and re-uploaded it as a sample and I added another song sample we will be recording also if you care to listen to it. We have another show tonight so gotta run. Thanks again!

goodluck with the recording mike...you guys have your stuff nailed down to the floor...you will be fine...i remember my first time recording in a pro studio...i just about sh*t myself...i was going from recording using sh*t equipment in a bedroom to a pro set up...and it was f ucking scary....
the thing to remember is that the process is the very same.....
it just sounds way better and cost a hell of a lot more but dont be put off by it...after a few takes i was relaxed and ready to record....
yourself and the band will be grand....close your eyes and play like your sitting at home...block out whats around you and you will be fine...

i cant wait to hear the finished songs...

slain.

Those "Dressed to Kill" cuts made me smile. :)

Great job. Mike, and I can't imagine any reason to for you to be in any way intimidated by a studio session.
I'd like to hook up with one of those recordings myself, when completed.

I'd be glad to help dude. Let me know what amp you're using. DSL's and TSL's are slightly different in their valve functions from what I understand.
