The bassline sucks but haven't played bass for maybe 4 years..thinking the bass line is too busy?..like the guitar chords I composed however..drums from youtube mp3 file dragged into Ableton Live Lite 12..on a 10 day free trial of S-Gear..love the 135 choices of guitar tones..this particular setting was 'Jazz Deluxe"..if Mike or Planetguy want to write a bass line or part please contact me..will probably ditch this bass line..since it is a project..but a foundatoon I believe is there..more 6 string guitar? Possibly..i forgot how fun being creative was :?: 8) 8)

revision 2A has REPLACED VERSION 1A as of 12:17 PM CST

I'm probably not qualified to opine on jazz, but....in my opinion, you should carry more structured hooks on the bass that run with the drums and let the guitar pop out with the jazz vibe in more of counter-point timing. Groove through polyrhythm kinda. Bass can also support some of the sustained notes if you aren't opposed to chords on a bass. But do listen to Mike or Planetguy over me. They probably will have better in-genre thoughts about this.

Thanks Mordgeld..for the feedback and rapport..I agree whole-heartedly..I think I thought I could improvise a bass line on the spot, but too many chord changes to do spontaneously, at least for me..I should have chartrd the chords down and jus played roots 4ths and 5ths..(for now)..the walking bass line workrd ocvasionally but the Gm7 C9 Bdim7 Am7 altered to D7 was too much to imptovise on.. walking it..its one I will have to adhere to memorizing a composed bass line..thanks

You're welcome, for what it's worth. I usually try to 'center' my basslines by hooking them to a note that has harmonic commonality to the most notes being played with it. For example, for G, A, B, D, I might explore starting with D (or a mode of D to pick up the 7 tones) on bass since it is the 5th, 4th, m 3rd, and 1st respectively for the given notes.

If I attempt to break this down ..the 1st batch of four chords are, 1st chord (4th string A on 7th fret) (3rd string D on 7th fret) (2nd string F on 6th fret)
(1st string C on 8th fret)
a F6/A chord?..more later..i will show the voicings for anybody who wants to play it..supper time

2nd chord (4th string G# on 6th fret) (3rd string D on 7th fret) ( 2nd string E on 5th fret) (1st string C on 8th fret) which I believe is a E7#5/G# chord

3rd chord is ( 4th string G# on 6th fret) ( 3rd string D on 7th fret)( 2nd string E on 5th fret) ( 1st string B on 7th fret) ..sorta like aVan Epps cadence or signatue Van Epps chord progression the chord a E7/G#

4th chord is just an Am on 7th fret 4th string, 3rd 2nd 1st string barred at 5th fret..
Next few chords are jazzier although evrrything sorta jazzy with exception of the pop sounding Am chord :P

Next up the 5th chord in progression, a F#m7-5 chord or alsl known as "half-diminished".. (4th string 4th fret) 3rd string 2nd string 1st string barred @ 5th fret.. intervals 4th string as root 3rd string as b5th, 2nd string as b7th, and 1st string as b3rd

6th chord in progression is a G7 chord with ROOT on 1st string. (4th string is F the flaated 7th) ( 3rd string is B the 3rd) ( 2nd string is D the 5th) and 1st string the root at 3rd fret G)

7th chord up is a G11 chord
Root on 6th string G. Barre everything across 3rd fret except 3rd string which is fretted at 4th fret and 1st string which is fretted at 5th fret..spelling from 6th string to 1st as follows, root, 11th b7th 3rd 5th 9th

8th chord is a G7+5 (G7 augmented 5th chord) sp. 1st #5th 3rd b7th
..9th chord is a Am7 voicing 6th string 5th fret 5th string X 4th string 3rd and 2nd string as well as 6th string barred..5th string and 1st string not played

Then the 9th chord is a G#7#5 chord..6th string is G# at 4th fret 5th string X 4th string F# at 4th fret 3rd string is C at 5th fret and 2nd string is E at 5th fret..1st string X

Will take a break now

I like that much better. Really seems to carry the flow throughout the song from one chord change to the next.

Guys, I delved into ultra-low fidelity video production but found it to be a decent way to convert .wav files into .mp4 files..these were recorded with Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface into Ableton Live Lite 12 recording software and I just purchased S-Gear plugin bundle
