About 2 years ago, I saw a band Prowler at The Galaxy in Santa Ana, CA. they were opening for Yngvwe Malmsteen (however you spell his name), they whole show sucked actually. But Prowler was so bad, they were almost good
My worst experience actually comes from being a judge at a battle of the bands. Although there were three bands involved, my friend (who had organized the event) assured me that the last band was going to win (maybe she was trying to influence me-?).
The first band was decent-something along the lines of Avenged Sevenfold. The second band was also very good, but much more of a pop band. Then came the final band-the supposed "lock" to win.
Smoke machine...Giant banner...guitars spinning 360 degrees around their players and...
Absolute suckage! Their 10-15 minute set became a migraine inducing sludgefest that appeared to last for hours. Half way through their second song, I wasn't sure whether I should puke, cry or just limp out of the room. AFTER tallying the scores, the other two judges concurred with my feelings. Needless to say, the band was very upset-Apparently THEY had also decided that they had already won. I am thankful for one thing, though. Their sound was SO bad and muddy that none of their crappy songs or lyrics stuck in my head (invading my nightmares and forcing me to wake up screaming!).

Actually, the worst band I ever saw live, I saw from the stage. It was the 2nd band I was ever in. It was called "Heartsblood."
The 2nd worst was the 1st band I was ever in. It was a "classic" rock/old country band called "The Cumberland Crusaders." (We had argued about what kinda music we would play, & ended up compromising - every other song was a rock song, & in between was a country one.) We played for the Anne Arundel County Coon-Hunters Association at a pig roast at Pumphey's Pond from 10 AM until 10 PM, off & on, for $25 & all the pig we could eat. I think I was 16, & had only been playing guitar for 4 months.
